Don't think @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler said that at all. How would he or anyone know what Rupp would accept?

They has been interested in the club but maybe the figure quoted put the buyers off.

Just think Mr Rupp just needs to sell and cut his losses for the good of the club because since he brought the club we have gone backwards and it's been a shambles.

Salford were spending the best part of £2m in the conference, Forest Green spent £3.3m on all staff last season, Scunthorpe in the 17/18 season, so league one, £5.7m.

City have a competitive budget but it’s wasted on utter dogshit.

Guthrie, Anderson, BRE, Devine, Akpan, Taylor, Novak, Mellor, Henley, Riley. I’d bet there is at least 750k a year going out on that lot and not one of them is good enough.

You can have a great budget but if you spend it badly it’s useless

The rip it up and start again boys are out in force today. Won't be satisfied until we have a new manager/squad/boardroom in place for every game after we lose.

Sorry Fordy but that is EXACTLY what @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler said. The amount required in his opinion.
I agree Rupp needs to cut his losses and sell, but it needs to a buyer with the funds and/or determination to take us forwards

    There’s that word again ‘invest’

What we actually mean is ‘give’.

Premiership and some Championship clubs ‘invest’ because there is a REAL chance that there will be a financial return on that investment.

The chance of any ROI on money spent in League Two is probably close to zero.

It may sound like I lack ambition but we really need to get over this.

Bradford City is a low level League 1/League 2 club with a core support of around 10k (cheap STs inflate this) within a city with poor services and is financially poor, it does not own any assets and the city has a population demographic that does not show any particular interest in its professional sport teams.

So the word ‘invest’ really doesn’t work does it?

So let’s pack up shop now then. It’s this attitude of ‘know your place’ that has held the club & let’s be honest the City of Bradford back for years.

I agree with your general point BUT on purchasing ths club during one of their first interviews in the T&A after saying how he was introduced to Rahic he commented "my INVESTMENT is worth the risk" I have posted that comment many times on here and it worried me at the time and worries me even more now,

Can’t argue with that but any risk analysis on further investment would likely show it to be unwise given the reasons I posted.

No it is not ‘know your place’.

But we can’t magic the money out of thin air. Somebody, somewhere has to provide it. Put their hands in their pocket and hand it over. The fans, the board it really is those two and only those two that can materially affect our income stream or ‘investment’.

What can we do? We can add to the pool by paying higher ST and game ticket prices, buying more shirts, shorts and pies.

We can’t force the board to do anything but we can try to influence by our actions (see above)

We can sit here and complain all we want about Rupp but if we were honest and it was our money we would probably be reluctant to throw more money at a business that was going backwards and ultimately had a very limited upside and where you were unlikely to ever realise any return never mind significant return.

I am not without ambition but as a realist that ambition has boundaries because of our history and location,

I have to smile as in the past I've very much been a supporter of Julian & Mark and understand Mark was reluctant to sell, not just to these two but generally, it was Julian who was the motivator, never a truer comment " better the devil you know" they got knocked time and time again for making it clear they were prepared to run an affordable deficit and if we didn't have a cup run or any other way of covering that deficit we would have to sell one of our assets.
Mark enjoyed the limelight, very much like Rahic unfortunatly in our current situation all the PR stuff is left to Ryan, and he is only able to comment on general stuff, we need to hear from our owner.
I believe his last statement with regards trying to get the club back to where we were before Rahics meddling was around 12 months ago, that IMO is not good enough especially in the present situation our club is in,.
Their dream of selling 20,000 season tickets next season is turning into nightmare.

On this forum we all talk about the the owner investing in the club.
What we all actually mean is throwing money at the playing squad, personally I see investing in the club as investing in the pitch and young player development as well.
I don't think that Stefan Rupp is the type of businessman that will cut and run, he is more likely to wait and see if Stuart can turn things around without interferance.
As for the playing budget it will more than likely be competitive at this level. I shouldn't imagine any of the top three have spent more than us on the playing budget. and if you look at SM's comments on the club's website about yesterday's performance you will see that he has now come to the same conclusions as the rest of us about the present squad of players.

Well if true it just highlights how weak the club is at management/board/ investors level.

Rhodes sold to Rupp and if if takes 10m to move the club forward that's the message that should be drilled into Rupp and if he doesn't want to do that then the message should be to sell up!

However, Rhodes is trying to tick boxes and run it like he owns it and in truth it's damaging the club as we're going backwards.

Earlier in the season, when the figure of £2.7m was being quoted as the playing budget, it was said by one of the club ambassadors that this playing budget was about 3rd highest in the division. Where we are in the league currently shows that it hasn't been spent well.

Fortunately for us, the McBurnie sell-on firstly provided the cash for such a competitive playing budget and secondly helped to stop us breaching this season's FFP limit. It was McBurnie which funded the playing budget and not Rupp. Unfortuntaely, next season will be a different matter. There will be no more sell-on fees and we will be constrained by the FFP limit. We had all better get used to have a lower playing budget next season than this because I don't imagine for one moment that under the current situation, Rupp will be digging into his own pockets to subsidise the club.

I started this yesterday whilst waiting to be taken to the airport
What I think needs to happen is
1, someone or consortium to talk to Rupp about his plans for Bradford city
2, buy into it or try to buy him out
3,don't know the legality but increase next seasons season ticket now those who have purchased already pay a increase those not bought one buy at new price till Easter price then goes up again
4 the club shop and bars are not contracted out next season we run our own
5, long term we buy the ground back talk to the bulls or bpa if not both about ground sharing
Use McCall suite as a before game fans bar
These are just my thoughts probably not feasible or practical to do but at least it would start by bringing some revenue into the club
But until Rupp tells us what is plans it just pure speculation

Without doubt more investment into the club be that the owner or raising season ticket prices which has been done to death SHOULD give the manager a better chance of sucsess by bringing better quality into the club.
Sucsess on the pitch will then will generate more interest and more finance, we were 3 points off 6th place after the Plymouth game after yesterdays fiasco we find ourselves 4 points behind with games running out, yesterday was a perfect chance to try and gain ground on those above us.
Salford were no big deal they played to their strengths but in reality that Bradford City team were so disjointed we'll never know if the same team selection against Plymouth would have got us a win.
Before the game we still had a very good chance to still push for a promotion place irrelevant of how it turned out for me Stuart screwed up yesterday and even his subs were either like for like or in Donaldsons case too late.

I am wondering @Bronco@Bronco if his team selection is partly down to trying to look at the players in a match situation before the end of the season. Difficult to do and provide consistency. He might have been told to do that or he has decided. Either way we were atrocious. He is saying it is going to be difficult to pick a team to play next week due to players not performing.

I just felt we were still in with a shout of making the play offs and as long as it was mathematically possible Stuart would have gone for it.
I believe a manager can get more of an insight into each individual player on the training ground rather than in game time.
They all have the ability to play the game even league two level, but on the training ground you see if he can do his job, motivate others, be part of a squad or is he a good player but a loner, does he accept criticism in front of his fellow players, are they the first onto the training ground and the last to leave.
I would also think within the game Stuart could ring managers who a certain players has played for in the past and asked if he was the right sort of player for his style of playing, ultimately it's down to the manager but I do believe a manager would have a good insight during training.

I said £10m to buy the Club AND take it forward. I have no idea what the slit between the two elements would be.

Don’t disagree with anything you say. However, what Stuart has hinted at is they can all talk a good game and may even be good in training but when push comes to shove the lack strength of character. Name me one lad who even looks like he would take on the world for our club?
