We spend way more that £350m a week extra on the NHS than we did in 2016.

Of all the criticisms of Brexit this is one that should be consigned to the dustbin cos the maths doesn't math.

    40 new hospitals by 2030

The biggest hospital building programme in a generation
From improving mental health and learning disability services in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear to building a new Woman and Children’s Hospital in Cornwall, this building programme will bring top-class healthcare services to more people locally.

In October 2020 the Prime Minister announced details of 40 hospitals to be built by 2030, with a further eight new schemes invited to bid for future funding, as part of the biggest hospital building programme in a generation.

These hospitals are part of our wider plans to invest in buildings and equipment across the NHS to ensure our world-class healthcare system and staff have the facilities they need for the future.

Exactly where they said they'd be.

God only knows why they called them all "new" when that wasn't even what they claimed in the detail at the time!

I have a pile of returned items from the EU that cant even get passed the UK border. All but a few are damaged upon return. I can send you a pic if you dont believe me. We use amazon, etsy and RM custom labels as directed by them and the gov but they dont get through.

Im saving them and going to dump them on my tory MPs surgery doorstep.

Business has all but dried up so I have now taken a full time job in Leeds as the business can only afford to pay one of our wages. Cost of living has an impact but so has brexit and in all seriousness it is a fact. I cant afford to setup an office in the EU we are just too small.

When we stop paying the billions of pounds each year for our leaving bill and the EU has to make cuts or ask the tax payers of Germany and France to make up the shortfall then we will see how good the EU economy is. The UK economy has been remarkably resilient with COVID and brexit to cope with and will improve over years

The EU budget has nothing to do with EU economies. I think you are mixing the EU budget up with the European Central Bank which we were never part of.

We know you think brexit is the best way forward and its not just the economy thats important to you when it comes to this matter. But you are simply wrong on nearly all counts with what you have been saying recently. I suggest you read up on how it all works and then you might think differently.

Even Michael Gove has said that its time now to put the country before ideology and closer ties to the EU and single market are needed. Its that or closer ties to China, again not my view but the view of The Telegraph.

The budget of the EU is vital to its economy as it determines what amount countries pay in or take out of the EU central budget. Each member country has adjust its taxation or government spending in relation to that budgetd demanded by the EU commission . We are still paying in the 35 billions to the EU which will help our economy when paid and the EU will then have to find from its members or make cuts to its budget which is highly unlikely

The European Union's GDP estimated to be around $16.6 trillion (nominal) in 2022 representing around one sixth of the global economy. - wikipedia

The annual EU budget is actually quite small – around €160-180 billion annually in 2021-27. - europa.eu

The EU budget is 1% of the EU economy. Like I said you might want to read up on how stuff works before claiming facts and being completely wrong.

GDP and the budget of the EU are totally separate. You need to learn more about the economics of government and taxation

We may well spend more than £350m per week more on the NHS than we did in 2016. But that money is coming from our taxation, not from us leaving the EU.
The clear message of the "£350m more per week for the NHS" was that our economy would be so much better off outside the EU that we could spend our new found largesse on the NHS to improve the fecking awful mess that the Tories have made of it since 2010. That clearly is not the case. Our economy is lagging behind other developed countries and is considerably smaller than it would have been had we remained in the EU. So the idea that we can now afford to spend £350m pw (or £18b,200m pa) extra on the NHS to improve it, because we're so well off out of the EU, is for the birds.
The lie that we would use the 'Brexitt benefit' to improve the NHS is still a lie

I don't disagree to be honest. But if you ask "where is it", its being spent on the NHS. "Where has it come from" is a different question.

I suppose the other point to make is that we're still settling the divorce bill so we're still sending money to the EU I believe? Can't imagine we settled that in a lump sum.

But, again, to promise many millions per week more for the NHS from the 'savings' made by not paying EU budget contributions, when they knew we would be still paying them for years to come, was at best disingenuous and at worse downright dishonest.

    They didn't promise though.

They said we send 350m to the EU, let's fund the NHS Instead.

And they've funded the NHS to that amount and more. I get what you're saying about implication that's the difference between a promise and election marketing.
