    What about Labour's plans?

Lets not deal with whataboutery and lets deal with facts.

Boat crossings in 2018 saw 300 people a year cross. Boat crossings in 2022 saw just shy of 50,000 people a year cross. Boat crossings have nearly doubled since the Tories announced their flagship Rwanda deal and Rwanda for the cost of £140m will only take 200 people anyway. So what happens to the other 49,800 that come across in the year. France aren't taking them back.

If you are taken in by this unworkable, pathetic joke of an announcement to deflect away from total failure in all aspects of government then red meat policies with no substance will win you over and cause you to point at the other party.

This has all come about on the Tories watch and they have absolutely no idea on how to put it right. Labour might not either but even if they don't that puts them on par with the Tories not worse.

It's snowing today, the cost of Wholesale Gas is a fraction of what it was 6 months ago, yet my Gas bill is 300% what it was. This stuff matters, not Gary Linekar calling out language which is designed to cause division and certainly not unworkably policy that won't stand up to law.

This government has run out of road, it's a complete joke. The Conservative Party should be the party of law, order, free speech and anti cancel culture. Instead they are lawbreakers in complete disarray who want to silence people who speak up to them and many have called for a man to lose his job for simply speaking out against them saying the BBC should be neutral when it's head is a Tory donor who got Boris a £800k loan.

How's Brexit lets take back control of our borders working out? No one is to blame other than the Tories for the current boats crisis. It wasn't even an issue in 2018 and now under their government it's seeing 50,000 a year rocking up. To point the finger at Labour is laughable, it's a complete disaster as it is so lets not blame others for the mess.

This has only become an issue since Brexit. 2018, 300 came across on boats. 2022, 50,000 came across on boats.

They aren't in power, the Tories have a massive majority and they still pull the wool over the eyes of idiots that they are taking the fight to illegal immigration when figures say otherwise.

Why should they? There are far more important things to worry about for people in the UK. They have pointed out that slogans and daft proposals won't work and to be fair to them they have been proven correct. So tell me where are we sending these 50,000 people per year. Rwanda if proven lawful will take 200. So where will the other 49,800 go? France won't take them.

You only have to look at it to see it won't work, but many lap up this rubbish. It reminds me of City under dire managers where they simply say we go again in the T&A before their next defeat.

I presume you are ignoring the question about where are these people going to be sent because you know it can't be answered.

200 to Rwanda, so where do the other 49,800 a year go? Which based on current trends is likely to be 75,000 or more this year.

So you can't answer that question, you are cheerleading something that you know is absolute bobbins.

I don't deny something needs to be done, I am simply pointing out that it won't work and will fall at the very first hurdle.

It's like Mark Hughes claiming we will sign Mbappe. We know it's bobbins but it's good to hear.

So I will ask you again, If Rwanda will take 200, France won't take any, where are they sending the other 49,800 people that they claim they will be returning?

The Latest I heard was that the Rwanda idea is now uncapped, can't remember who said it but I heard it yesterday, other than that I suppose the 150,000 already here will end up staying, let's see if we can shift the ones that arrive from yesterday...we both agree that this government is useless but Labour by their silence are just as culpable ....

I will judge Labour on their actions, and as they maybe in government sooner rather than later so I will reserve my judgement till then.

Not 1 person has been sent to Rwanda yet and now they are claiming it will be uncapped.

You want to know who said it would be uncapped, Robert Jenrick.

Robert Jenrick seems a nice honest politician.....

"Jenrick admitted he helped a major Tory donor save up to £50million in tax.

Mr Johnson threw his weight behind Robert Jenrick over his decision to greenlight a Tory donor's £1billion housing development.

The Housing Secretary was forced to publish documents over his approval.

The Tory minister had released papers relating to his approval of the Westferry development in East London, owned by ex-newspaper chief Richard Desmond.

He was accused of sanctioning the deal after Mr Desmond made a £12,000 donation to the Conservative Party.

Among documents, one aide suggested that Mr Jenrick speed up the decision to save Mr Desmond from paying a £40million council tax levy.

Mr Jenrick, 38, also sat next to the tycoon at a donors’ ball where he admitted Mr Desmond showed him a video of the development.

The planning decision was later scrapped after a court challenge."

Under the 'Dublin Regulation' we had the right to send all the boat migrants back to France when we were in the EU.

Some might ask why the government chose not to do so when we were in the EU, but now want to send them to Rwanda at a huge cost.

Well the boats only saw 300 people come across in 2018, where as now we see 50,000.

lets not forget, not 1 person has been sent to Rwanda, 1 year after the scheme was announced and now some people are clinging to the fact we can send as many as we want there uncapped because someone said so (having seen not 1 person sent there so far).

Still it would be worse under Labour.....

Yes one of the reasons I voted Tory as well as Brexit was to reduce immigration the Tory record had been shocking under May and other Home Secretaries not delivering what was in at least two or more of their previous manifestos, your kidding yourself if you believe the situation was any better under Labour under Blair it was a free for all.
Of course it's the Tories problem as it will be Labour's problem if the win the next election so I don't think it unreasonable to ask what are Labour's plans going forward as this problem is not going away, but if you want to bury your head in the sand go ahead.
We are in a shocking mess with regards your above but again stop trying to make out it's unique to the UK.
With regards the boat people what will change if Labour do get in ?, according to Phillip Davies International Maritime Law does not allow the UK border guard to turn these boats full of economic migrants around and make them return to the safe country they came from which in this case is France Macron has openly said he will not allow the UK to return these people to France.

It's not my job but to be honest thinking off the top of my head.

Setup a migrant processing office in Calais. Do a deal with France to allow our border security officers to patrol the coast on the French side. Try deal with the issue where the people traffickors are rather than paying France to do nothing then having the issue on the British side where your options are then massively restricted.

Pointing out that the current proposals are complete fantasy is not having all the answers, it's just pointing out to people like yourself who seem to think it make a difference that nothing will change. I mean you are hanging on these new propsals 1 year after the last gimmick failed like a football team on a losing streak saying we go again to the local paper.

Never said that I was hanging on the latest proposals, nothing will work other than physically stopping them and towing them back, too late once they are here ...
