Has May brokered a deal that the Commons will pass, as we knew the back stop in its past form was unacceptable, lets hope the new deal she is going to present to MPs this sfteroon will get backed and we can get on with life outside the EU ?.

I think she will be defeated tonight by the brexiteers in her party. Ironically I think Brexit is not going to happen so they will have only themselves to blame

I would have willingly got out with no deal, but Labour are not going to allow that, they will have plenty of explaining to do to their electorate come the local and next general elections.
We await the details of what's changed with regards the UK having control over when we can exit the back stop, which I said after the first vote was totally unacceptable to the country never mind brexiteers.
I believe we should have had someone who was 100% behind brexit to deal with the EU negotiators that would have been far more acceptable than a remainer trying to pacify both camps.

No chance now, seeing Geoffrey Cox's advice.

We will have a new Prime Minister before Brexit happens. No idea when that will be, but it won't be at the end of the month.

For me, it needs another referendum now. Simple question...No deal or No Brexit. That instructs parliament what to do next.

There is a majority in the house for a 'soft' Brexit but party politics stops it from happening.

The trouble is across parliament and indeed across the whole country there is nothing anybody can agree on. So chaos is on the cards I just cannot see Brexit happening which could bring a rise in right wing politics in this country

Just read an artical with regards the new deal and Cox's say''s nothings changed, so as you say this will not get past Parliament

I find hard that people against brexit seem to think we didn't understand what we were voting for, it was quite simple we were told by both Cameron & Osborne if we vote leave that means were out of the EU, Customs Union and Single Market. brexit.jpg
Geoffrey Cox is now speaking in Parliament.

We are seeing it in France, Italy, Greece, Germany, and much of it is self inflicted by those particular governments.
Then you hear Poland and Hungary saying they will not abide with the EU immigration quotas the EU have got major problems come the European Parliment elections from Thursday 23 May until Sunday 26 May.

Having just listened to Geoffrey Cox defending the new deal, he is adamant that the unilateral declaration stating there is nothing to stop the UK from leaving the backstop if discussions on a future relationship with the EU break down and there is no prospect of an agreement.

I take it if brexit is delayed for months, then the UK can vote in the upcoming elections?

What do you mean no bloody chance we've caused enough mayhem as it is.

EU establishment going to have a fun time defending their recent record.

The three votes scheduled for today, tomorrow and Thursday are:
    1. May's deal;
    2. Leave without a deal; and
    3. Delay Brexit.
If all three are defeated, then the default is that we leave without a deal on 29 March 2019. However, it would, presumably leave the door open for someone to table a new motion in the remaining two weeks.

Whether you favour being in, out or shaking it all about, it seems to me that Brexit has been a massive distraction that we could all do without. Too many other important issues that are not been dealt with properly. We need to bring this to a close as soon as possible. It seems to me that the worst deal is not May's deal, not a hard Brexit, not remaining in the EU; its wasting another 3 years or more arguing about it. We need to move on and quickly.

Whatever happens with the votes there will need to be some actual legislation passed as well before the end of the month. If not it is no deal as that is that current legislative position

After last nights vote here is a little forecast of what may happen,
1 Parliament votes to reject a no deal exit tonight,
2 Tomorrow Parliament votes to extend article 50 and delay brexit from March 29th
3 The EU put an extension vote to its 27 members every one must agree
4 2 members refuse the extension and the extension is thus refused
5 In panic of now having to leave without a deal on the 29th March Parliament meets
6 Parliament votes for the May deal :)

We have the biggest set of hopeless Wenker MPs in our history

Here's where I'm a little baffled @trevor@trevor, if MPs vote to take the "no deal" off the table (the only card we have left to play and the only trump card we ever had) and your other forecasts are correct, how can we then implement your number 5 ?.
When this thread was originally opened on C&B and some posters were saying they will renege on the electorates vote I honestly though in this country that would never happen, the mother of democracy treating the electorate in that way, boy how wrong was I, f*****g snakes.

Look at the way Theresa May has worded tonight's vote:
"That this House declines to approve leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework on the Future Relationship on 29 March 2019; and notes that leaving without a deal remains the default in UK and EU law unless this House and the EU ratify an agreement."
So, tonight MPs can vote against leaving with mo deal and, at the same time, acknowledge that we will be leaving with no deal. A majority for the motion does not stop us leaving without a deal nor does a majority against mean we will leave without a deal. Its a nothing vote. However, the amendments being put forward may change that, although that seems unlikely.

I think @trevor@trevor is right, she is still trying to run down the clock in order to panic MPs into voting her "deal" through.

No point in ever voting again. Remember this in future referendums and general election your vote means nothing. Zero. I voted once when i was 18, and only once more at the age of 45 in the Brexit vote. One thing i can be thankful my vote has done is show British politics is dead in the water. Westminister is a busted flush, full of overpaid underskilled halfwits who couldn't run bath.

I asked the question about yesterday vote and got yhis answer :
Look at the way Theresa May has worded tonight's vote:
"That this House declines to approve leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework on the Future Relationship on 29 March 2019; and notes that leaving without a deal remains the default in UK and EU law unless this House and the EU ratify an agreement."

I think @trevor@trevor is right, she is still trying to run down the clock in order to panic MPs into voting her "deal" through.
And watching last nights vote the questions after sounded hardly convincing from the likes of Hilary Been who put the vote forwad.
