Like I said the other day on another thread, the damage sparks and co have done this past couple of seasons will see the young generation of fans abandon us, it has probably taken us almost 25 years to get them interested and now it’ll take us another 25 years

They only destroyed us until Alexander took Taylor off at half time with Bobby Pointon and went with the now familiar three centre backs. We battered them second half and deserved a point by the end. Get at them early doors and they'll fold like a cheap deck chair.

 

There are more snowflakes sat in their armchairs than are actually falling from the sky.
Its Winter , its wet, our pitch is muddy and will not get any better ant time soon, get on with it unless it becomes so puddled the ball will not run, no problems against Wycombe, some of our better football and we have had a few dry days since then for the pitch to drain off and be worked on.

 

All our pitch problems stem from the BSM game against Liverpool being played when the pitch was Semi frozen.

Yes, you can’t help the weather and yes our pitch is hugely susceptible to water logging, but honestly I could have bet a small fortune that the game would be off at 11am this morning. Every forecast said heavy rain continuing. Why wait until loads of people had already set off? I get they want to try and get games on but let’s be honest, this was never likely to go ahead.

 

And see if we play better with 7.

Exactly. The mentality of any organisation, business, team, starts at the top. When the stated ambition is openly 'just don't go down, don't go bust', it doesn't just set you up for ridicule, or lead to doing things on the cheap or making decisions in a sloppy, fragmented manner - it infects every aspect of the club.

 

Now the chaff and plastic fans have been shed-we are left with the worthy fans who will ride the storm and take the club onto pastures new. Some fans still believe that performances on the pitch won't equate to a significant loss of ST sales. There were no more than 5K City fans there tonight , if that. And the boo's at full time were hearty and prolonged.

Their nos 10 & 7 - Jones and Crowley - absolutely played us off the park. Both had the ball on a string, even on our mud tip pitch, and always knew exactly what to do with it. This brings our recruitment into sharp contrast. When was the last time we had one, never mind two, midfielders who could exert so much control? Nicky Law, on a good day, I reckon.

 

Well said. I've been in that camp, accused of being overly critical or negative, even taking joy in it. Nothing is further from the truth. I've wanted to be wrong all along. Some of the happiest memories of my life involve this club. It's heartbreaking to see what's happening to the club, and the city.

 

At one point in the second half we had no fewer than SEVEN of the team playing a role that would be considered out of position.

Oyegoke, (a right back/RWB playing CB)
Richards, (a left sided centre half at Wolves playing LWB)
Halliday, (a right back playing RWB)
Chapman, (a winger playing CM and CAM)
Walker, (cam or winger, played deep alongside Smallwood)
Smith. (Striker, ended up on the wing).

That's all despite having an apparently "bloated" squad.

GA absolutely has to take the responsibility for these selections, regardless of how we feel about the club hierarchy.

 

At this rate we'll be in the relegation zone going into the last week of the season - with a chance of making the playoffs.

 

It’s embarrassing and systemic of lack of funding and vision outside of offering contracts to over 30 has beens, injury prone or pure gambles.

You can say it’s a valley, not ours, been good last few seasons I don’t care. Its job is to allow football to be played twice a month it’s failing.

I was truly embarrassed when listening to the sky lot at the semi final.. honestly better local parks in the area.

 

It is indefensible that there has been zero investment in the pitch and other facilities since it was done several years ago. Things need regular maintenance, expect constant issues when shit like this happen

 

Ridehalgh again, jesus christ. The bloke has been hauled off after 45 and 25 minutes in the last two games. We know we've got no defenders available so why not go to a back 4?
