All our pitch problems stem from the BSM game against Liverpool being played when the pitch was Semi frozen.

They can’t predict what’s going to fall from the sky and how much in a small amount of time

But they can put effort into having a pitch that doesn’t resemble a school field (pardon the pun)

This does feel ridiculous but oh my god does our pitch look atrocious in those photos

I'm half expecting some creature to rise up out of the black lagoon if I stare at it long enough, wow it looks bad

Yes, you can’t help the weather and yes our pitch is hugely susceptible to water logging, but honestly I could have bet a small fortune that the game would be off at 11am this morning. Every forecast said heavy rain continuing. Why wait until loads of people had already set off? I get they want to try and get games on but let’s be honest, this was never likely to go ahead.

The pitch isn't in a great condition but the volume of rain this year has been ridiculous.

If there are hosepipe bans in July it will be complete nonsense.

What do you expect them to do? The pitch was playable when the announcement was made at 10:15am and they don't postpone a match on a forecast for rain. If they postponed the match at 11am and the rain wasn't as bad as the forecast then you have a lot of justified complaints that they took the decision too early.

If they had announced at 10am it was off people would have been up in arms saying it was called off too early never gave it a chance

You can't postpone a game when you have a playable pitch but the forecast is bad.

It's frustrating, but it's one of those things

If it’s deemed playable at 11 by the ref and it’s bell ended it down ever since on packed sand
    what do we expect ?

The key word is REASSESS. ( Look AGAIN)

    The club statement

After heavy rainfall this afternoon, match referee David Rock is reassessing the pitch
at the University of Bradford Stadium, as we await the arrival of both managers.
We will continue to keep supporters updated on the status of the match.

Whatever happens nobody wins. We can’t stop the elements . See my comment about Colchester earlier . It’s like a lush summer meadow. Called off because it’s waterlogged. It’s rained here in EA for days on end.

Another crap situation for fans, especially the Notts in this case. With global warming it probably won’t get any better with wetter and wetter winters the norm, time to make sure clubs invest right in their pitches and less in journeymen or fans will waste more and more money.

Exactly this. Just make an earlier announcement. Everyone can see rain is on the way by looking at the radar and having knowledge of the pitch. It’s not rocket science.

With the only 2 dates left available of 19th March and 23rd April I wouldn't be surprised if the EFL take the decision out of our hands and force the game to be played 19th March to keep the 23rd April available in case we have any more postponements

It’s embarrassing and systemic of lack of funding and vision outside of offering contracts to over 30 has beens, injury prone or pure gambles.

You can say it’s a valley, not ours, been good last few seasons I don’t care. Its job is to allow football to be played twice a month it’s failing.

I was truly embarrassed when listening to the sky lot at the semi final.. honestly better local parks in the area.

It is indefensible that there has been zero investment in the pitch and other facilities since it was done several years ago. Things need regular maintenance, expect constant issues when shit like this happen

Top post!!! It’s bottom of the pile stuff because it costs and needs vision. Anything that requires those elements kiss it goodbye!!

Respectfully disagree. Everyone at the club knows the pitch inside out and can look at the rain radar and see the rain coming and knows how the pitch will react.

The ref didn't inspect it at 11am though did he?
