    Debating not arguing, the reason I posted it was the comment Pointon had resigned was made from a box both Ryan and Stefan were present, but your correct I can't prove it, I just thought I'd put it out there what I'd been told, no big deal.

    Bobby was offered a new contract by Bradford City in May 2023, he signed the new one-year deal in June 2023.

    By the same token I heard Halliday has sorted a new contract which, like Pointon, wouldn't surprise me.

    Just found this broncs

    “Bradford City AFC is pleased to announce that academy graduates Bobby Pointon, Dylan Youmbi and Harvey Rowe have signed new, initial one-year contracts.

    The trio have put pen to paper on deals which will keep them at the University of Bradford Stadium until at least the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.”

    does that suggest there is an option beyond this season?

    If we couldn’t sell him in January what makes you think we will get a decent offer now after he has hardly played since.

    If it’s anything it will be a years extension with a fee attached. If anyone wants him rather than little compo many that we would get.

    With it being their first season as proper footballers it would show Bradford City how they could handle the situation at their relevant clubs, a one year contract with an extension sounds logical.
    Obviously Bobby has got the limelight as not merely has be broken into the first team squad on a regular basis he's producing when called upon, which is great for both parties.
    Not sure with regards the Youmbi or Rowe situations are they still at Scunthorpe and Farsley or are they back at Valley Parade.

    To any Bradford City fan who watched us this season it makes sense to have those two in the bag, but it will be announced when the club feel its right, as I said just putting out what I was told.

    There are Three ways (in my opinion) that will prevent a fit Pointon playing for Bradford City next season.

    1 Bradford City do not take up the option they have (Written into his contract he signed June 23).

    2 Bradford City receives an offer from another club which both Pointon and Bradford City accept,( and his new Club do not loan him back to Bradford City).

    3 Alexander does not select him to play.

    Unless there is a really big offer I think not . Forget Lewis type bonus transfers of £1/2m or whatever. He’s worth more to the club than that in many ways.

    Morais said on the radio that if any deals were done before the end of the season players will find out about it and it would be bad PR for the club and lose players confidence.

    GA said no one has been spoken to until next week about contracts.

    Both those point to next week being an exciting one for the fans as we get to see how hard the cull will be.

    Pointon will be on £400 a week max right now. A new contract should be £1K min a week. Maybe more. That lad has talent and we should be keeping him as long as we can.

    Because if he leaves on a fee it would be just small youth development compo but if he signs a professional contract for a year then you can attach a buy out clause in the contract which I believe this is the so called option in our favour is.

    1, As you say all options are a possibility, but if what I've posted is true (which I believe it is) then the first option can be discarded.

    2, Your second option would then be a straight transfer deal as you say accepted by both parties, similar to the MacBurnie deal.

    3, Who knows what Alexander has planned for next season but unless Bobby is sold I very much doubt he won't be a part of what we hope will be a very successful season for Bradford City, not forgetting the support he gets because he's "one of our own" and has been selected recently on merit.

    I hope the retained list is made known this week possibly Thursday then we'll know for sure.

    Bronco, regarding 2 and 3 no problem, with regards to 1 Bradford City have yet to discuss taking up the option they have in his contract,
    Bradford City have not offered him a new contract nor will they until they start discussions with the players and agents.
    I am not saying that your source as not heard something it’s just Bradford City have not had discussions with Pointon or his agents so far.
