Sorry Bronco, wasn't getting at any of the 25 year ticket holders...they showed their loyalty up front...just used it to emphasise the point about fans, the pitch etc. and everything else in the statement.

Yes you would think that any forward financial planning would account for any planned incremental rises in something such as fundamental as the ground rent.

There's the problem. The club was in freefall under Julian Rhodes' sole ownership, it was only when Mark Lawn came in that things started to improve. Julian didn't know how his train set worked until someone else helped him so him giving advice to Edin is like the blind leading the blind.

Doesn't suprise me that the Trust didn't want to rock the boat, might not get invited back for tea and biscuits if they upset Edin.

 

Rhodes dealt more with the football side and Lawn with getting-Dave-Baldwin-in-to-do-the-brainwork.

The cheap tickets idea came from the Rhodes though, well before Lawn was involved. They were afraid no-one would come back after City were relegated to the fourth division.

 

By 'well before' do you mean a few months?

Lawn joined in June 2007. Cheap season tickets were on sale a couple of months before.

Mark had been in discussions with the Rhodes family for months prior to investing. Julian was reluctant to even show Mark the books for many weeks, no idea why. Mark was indeed involved in the talks about the cheap season ticket deal, and although their relationship became strained later, it was Marks idea to approach Stuart McCall.

There is no evidence that the club is paying interest on any loan.

Long-term commercial leases typically have 5 year escalators.

25 year ticket holders did not really vote for a new pitch. I reckon most abstained.

 

It really didn't matter at the end of the day the Football League got involved.

 

So I've just read all of the statement as it's the first time I have had chance to.

It seems that everything that has gone wrong is all outside the Owners. Bad weather, we must live in a bubble where no one else in the north gets the weather we do.

The discontent in the stands quote is utter garbage, the fans have been behind the players. Boos might ring out at the final whistle but during the game the fans get behind the team.

This is like the captain of the titanic blaming the iceberg for being there rather than being asleep at the wheel.

The whole statement is something that North Korea would be proud of and the trust have simply lapped it up and seen it as progress.

The owners can the trust can paint this garbage as fact all they want, the reality is seen at a home game when thousands of season ticket holders can't be bothered to attend. I have missed the last two home games and I have been justified by the performances of the team.

This statement actually looks like it has been proof read and signed off by Edin himself.
