What a waste of a golden opportunity!

The trust has done little more than allow Rahic to express his points of view without challenge. There doesn't appear to have been any attempt to get behind some of the issues of the recent past and nothing said on his past statements - 'We'll support the manager in the January transfer window'; 'We're going to be open and transparent with the fans' and nothing of substance on how he and his co-owner will help to get us out of this current mess. There were plenty of opportunities to really test their thinking - eg how much investment will be required to get the club into the Championship - and yet Manny and co failed to follow up on these issues, every fecking one of them!

In short, imo the trust has failed to take advantage of this meeting with Rahic and to get some some tangible commitments out of him to turn things around. What a waste of time for everybody .. except Rahic!

So we've got a significantly higher budget and get we are second from bottom with the worst record in England in 2018. Even if I did believe that bollocks then someone needs lynching for spending that 'higher budget ' on that weak squad.

I thought that was a great meeting. We got to hear some brand new bullshit excuses from edin. It was the weather's fault why Grayson couldn't get a tune of the players and if we don't sign anyone in January then it's our fault for creating bad atmosphere.

You really couldn't make this up.

Yes, Edin has made a pre-emptive strike against the supporters. He knows full well that the vast majority are turning against him, and now he is trying to turn that into a future excuse for things continuing to go downhill.

I fear for the Club's future. Who will rid us of this turbulent egoist?

What a dissapointment that is. It is the fans fault for not providing the right atmosphere to attract players and sponsors!! Sorry Edin this will not do, constantly hiding behind its the weather, fans, and the caretaker if we still have one’s fault. The first part of learning is a recognition of your own input to the mess.

It might well be a critical phase for City in the next few weeks, but we have also heard that one before. ‘Give me time, this is the most important appointment for Bradford City, then he goes and employs a reluctant, cheap and inexperienced coach he could find’

Come back and discuss when he wants to behave and demonstrate he is actually an adult!

We need proper supporters group, that will be able to challenge Edin about some of those decisions, plus the financial health of the club. He talks about investment in his youth policy, that is not his personal wealth or Rupp’s, it is from the working capital of the club.

‘This led to a broader discussion about how many "small puzzles turned into a typhoon", to quote Edin. Many small things had built up, which started the decline’

The epitome of poor leadership. Allowing for multiple and incremental failures due to being unable to recognise and/or respond accordingly.

‘It was clear that Edin believes the FA Cup is a key competition for the club financially. He felt the Club had missed a key opportunity against Manchester United, an opportunity to raise revenue and strengthen its position in the transfer market. Despite large offers being made to bring proven players into the Club, this lost revenue may have impacted on the funds available for key targets. It is our understanding this coincided with the opening of the January Transfer Window. Offers were made by rivals for key Bradford City Players, which the club declined to accept. This caused issues with players which had big impacts within the dressing room, affecting moral and contributing to decline in results and loss of form, which the club have not recovered from. This ultimately led to a change of football management.’

Ah yes. The financial impact of going out of the cup early was so severe that we had no choice but to reject offers for some of our players and increase the playing budget for the following season.

‘Following Stuart McCall’s departure, Edin employed a manager based on his record of a high pedigree at our level. This was widely accepted as a good appointment by the majority of Bradford City fans and the wider football community’.

Maybe. But lets not mention anything about the ridiculous decision to sack Stuart in the first place; a decision they clearly couldn’t wait to take.

‘Between the combined circumstances of bad weather and postponed matches, a tough run of fixtures, and weather related issues with the training ground, the Club never saw the immediate change of fortunes to cement themselves as serious play-off contenders.’

Ah yeah. The weather. That was the problem. And tough fixtures. Damn those tough fixtures.

‘Also the effects of the adverse and prolonged bad weather during Simon Grayson's management caused a number of issues for training. The Trust Board questioned why Simon Grayson did not extend his stay beyond the end of the season; this was explained as "Simon saw himself as a Championship Manager", and a search for a new manager got underway.’

He never said anything of the sort. He was on record as disclosing his reasons for leaving being, essentially, that the club wouldn’t provide the tools needed for success at this level

'The owners accept that the appointment of the initial coaching team of Michael Collins, Martin Drury and Greg Abbott did not work out’.

They accept it do they?! Well, that’s nice.
'The Trust questioned the Club representatives about investment over the summer months, recruitment strategy, and the emphasis on signing young playing talent. During the summer months large investments were put into the infrastructure of the Club, making it able to be more sustainable in the years to come. These included an upgrade to the drainage on the pitch, the ticket system, the customer management software, club shop, maintenance equipment, back office equipment for the club staff, and general much needed stadium maintenance. All of this was to prepare the Club for the future years, and for Championship football. There was also a significant increase in the rent for the ground and a very significant increase of electric bills, as well as a huge increase of water usage (due to better pitch drainage).'

Outstanding. We’ve delivered the essential infrastructure improvements required to ensure that the club can be more sustainable. By increasing the bills.

‘In addition, Edin spoke of how the playing budget was significantly higher than last season.’

    OK. Who f*cked up?

'Significant investment has also been made within the youth academy setup and performances have been very impressive, with a host of talented youngsters coming through the ranks.'

    What ranks? Which talented youngsters?!

'We therefore questioned whether the Club believed the recruitment strategy was the correct one in the short term.'

Was it being bottom out of all 92 clubs in the country during the course of 2018 that led to this ‘question’…?

‘The owners acknowledged the short-term requirement for a balanced squad.’

    OK. Who f*cked up. Again.

'However it was emphasised that the current discontent from the stands – which is not helped by the run of results and current league position'

Not helped by?! It’s the sole bloody cause of it!!! 92nd out of 92!!!!

‘Edin told the Trust that the next few months are "vital" to Bradford City. it is vital that everyone makes Valley Parade as attractive a prospect as possible, as this will help determine the attractiveness of the Club to potential players ahead of the January Transfer Window.’

The LAST few were vital!! And he made a monumental f*ck up of it through incompetence and vanity. The level of support this club gets will be the SOLE attraction for players come January. Every single thing that serves as a deterrent will be at Edin’s door, and he has a f*cking cheek to suggest otherwise.

‘The Trust feels that any action at this time which would be detrimental to recruitment and to results, and potentially to the clubs League One status, would not be in the interests of the Club or the fans in the short term or long term.’

    As above.

'After Simon Grayson’s comments about the training facility when he left the Club in the summer, the Trust questioned what David Hopkin thought of the training ground and facilities. No such concerns have been expressed by David Hopkin. Paula Watson told the Trust that the bad weather in the early part of the year did cause issues for Simon Grayson but this was unavoidable.
''The Trust Board concluded by asking Edin about the lessons he had learnt during his tenure.’

FFS. Are they on the wind up?
'While Edin expressed commitment to the Club and the importance of ongoing dialogue with supporters groups, he expressed concern that this was being undermined by a minority of individuals who have been xenophobic towards not only him but also his family.'

Garbage. Any such issues are an extreme minority, the like of which all high profile figures have to contend with. And when they continue to show contempt for their staff and customers, and demonstrate their incompetence on a continual basis, they have to expect some degree of unpleasantness. To keep raising it as an issue is either a deliberate deflection tactic or another indication of how hopelessly ill-equipped he is for the role he’s taken on.

In short, what a load of bollocks.

Who the feck are these total idiots in the BCST? Who elects them or gives them the devine right to represent fans?

They should hang their heads in shame for not getting a single straight answer to any of the numerous questions that need addressing.

The BCST are complicit in the current destruction of our club and do not represent me. I am so pissed off by their inadequacies

If the product you are selling is below par, don't blame the customer for it.

Some very weak excuses in that statement, but blaming the fans for the atmosphere is pretty below the belt.

Well thanks for clearing up our questions BCST & Rahic. It’s all us nasty fans fault and a few weeks of winter weather, oh and Stuart McCall for us losing at Yeovil and missing out on Man Utd in the cup.

Ffs there’s no end to this prick and his arrogant bollocks!

Are these the same same fans who provide a significant amount of income to the club by buying season tickets spending in the ground and redeveloping the scoreboard/ changing rooms
Fans who travel miles from all over to VP fans who have to drive home soaked to the skin after the abject display at Accrington
We got behind the team before it was systematically dismantled we also got behind the manager before he was sacked Give us some kind of a team and we will get behind them again
Classic deflection of blame in my opinion bordering on arrogance
Let's see what effect blaming the fans has on next seasons season ticket sales

Well lads & lasses we know whos fault it is come January when we can't sign these marque players.
I would have loved to sign for Bradford City Mr Rahic but your fans can be rather boisterous at times, even flying a big banner over Valley Parade saying they prefer you not to be at the club, I am of a fragile nature, and come out in a rash if I hear any criticism of how I perform, so its a no from me.
    Regards

Yeah but you must've said something xenophobic which the players heard and it got to them. I can't think of any other reason we are so poor at the moment.

Why have I never heard of Ryan Sparks our PR and Media manager. He must be crap at PR work, as I've never seen any articles or media statements from him??

A lengthy statement about the meeting, but unless I've overlooked it, no challenge aimed at Rahic as to why he sacked McCall when we were still in a play off spot .

Also if they admit they got it wrong with the coaching appointments and structure in the summer, how come 2 out of 3 of them are still here and only Collins has been made a scapegoat?

Fascinating. It is a though Bradford City are unique.
We are the only club with:-
    • tough fixtures,
    • difficult weather,
    • players subject of transfer bids,
    • A Mass exodus of players (why?),
    • A manager who comes and then decides to leave (currently unemployed).
    • Mickey Collins debacle (why!!!).
    • The Under 18’s performance last season.
I just get the impression that the BCST need to go away and think through the responses they received. Had they provided written questions beforehand? It strikes me that the Club already had it’s ‘answers’ ready for them and that they exonerated the owner/club from any responsibility, they played the ‘victim’ role well. It is all about transference (psychological concept) and placing blame with xenophobic fans (which is wrong) and current discontent from the Stands. Clever tactics which may work with some, but frankly I have seen such tactics used time and time again.

So I've just read all of the statement as it's the first time I have had chance to.

It seems that everything that has gone wrong is all outside the Owners. Bad weather, we must live in a bubble where no one else in the north gets the weather we do.

The discontent in the stands quote is utter garbage, the fans have been behind the players. Boos might ring out at the final whistle but during the game the fans get behind the team.

This is like the captain of the titanic blaming the iceberg for being there rather than being asleep at the wheel.

The whole statement is something that North Korea would be proud of and the trust have simply lapped it up and seen it as progress.

The owners can the trust can paint this garbage as fact all they want, the reality is seen at a home game when thousands of season ticket holders can't be bothered to attend. I have missed the last two home games and I have been justified by the performances of the team.

This statement actually looks like it has been proof read and signed off by Edin himself.
