I don’t see us getting anything given recent performances, for me our luck runs out 3pm Saturday

3 nowt to Swindle

 

We were saying exactly this walking away from Carlisle and Macclesfield before that. Give us something to shout about. Our away atmospheres can be dire at the best of times but those two games couldn't get any worse. You end up questioning your own sanity. Not as bad to take when you are a division or two above, you expect to be on the back foot and scrapping for points, but creating nothing against teams barely above non league standard really takes the piss.

 

Who's going to score the 3 goals for Swindon it wont be Doyle.

 

Wow, Pint & Cheese, what a pub as i been in there several times since the 80's. White horse Mavis and her daughter Julie, big shame it shut down, Baker's Arm's too, oh the memories, great night always too.

 

Pretty much sums us up. Bit too much fannying around at the back at times. Patient retention of the ball, appear to be going nowhere at times then a couple of killer passes and we’re (Doyle) in!

Very little lumping it in the box. Never score from corners or free kicks. Apart from 2 penalties we’ve worked hard for the rest of our goals - not many headers, either. We’re pretty good at the ‘dark arts’ - or at least Grant is. Good watch most of the time.

 

I think a draw is in the cards. 1-1 with us scoring first in the first half but being outplayed for 90 minutes and Swindon equalising around 80 minutes. Assuming we go with 352/532. If we go 442/4321 then who knows.

 

Give over. We took over 1500 all the way to Carlisle the day after Christmas and were rewarded with the most frustrating pile of shite I’ve had the misfortune of witnessing

So far this season, Swindon have won at Orient, Scunthorpe and Grimsby - all games we scraped a draw at - as well as drawing at Cheltenham, where we lost

The last 6 or 7 games, regardless of being unbeaten, have been excruciatingly painful to watch. Absolutely dreadful stuff and cost a fortune in the process (as I have my lad to pay for too)

By my reckoning we have taken 13 points out of the last 24 available. We could’ve played more entertaining football, won 5 and lost 3 and being 2 points better off. Unbeaten runs that are loaded with draws just paper over the cracks

A walloping on Saturday I reckon. 3 nil Swindon

 

Ah yes.. Feel for every one that goes. Bet you can't wait to watch #blandbowyer and his 11 men Park the bus, not cross the halfway line. And never ever ever have a shot at goal.

 

Went to Macclesfield with my 2 lads and went on my own to Carlisle. Giving this one a miss as planning Mansfield. It soon adds up if there are 2 or 3 of you with tickets, coach tickets, food/drink etc. Especially if the entertainment is dour as both those 2 games have!!

 

Good to read the views of fans from other clubs on the forum, creates good debate.

 

Many thanks for that, I am stopping overnight at the Jurrys Inn managed to get a good deal £50bb I did stay there last time but it was not very good but they have recently spent a few quid on the hotel and it’s only 10 min from the ground and 5 min to the town so should be ok.

We do have the 2nd top goalscorer in the league as well tbf. I get we have had over half our goals scored this season by Doyle but we have created a shed load as well to be fair. In fact the last few games Doyle has looked quite leggy and missed a few chances

If we lost those two games, we'd have given away 6 points instead of 2.

Draws aren't always the worst thing. If we'd lost to Salford, it would be another team queuing up outside the playoffs.

 

Anderson and Yates have 17 between them, not too shabby

Point taken. However, most of the teams we have played recently have been firmly rooted in the bottom half, so I doubt giving a couple of them 2 points wouldn’t affect our position in the top 7 a great deal

 

Yes, we should certainly have gone all out to beat Leyton Orient, Carlisle and Morecambe.

It's very disappointing to have only beaten 1 side, with an aggregate of 1 goal.
