Austin Samuels Joins on Loan

We need impact players and nothing less. Hope Stuart gets the best out of him because in my opinion we are still short of a couple.

 

Here's my thought....

When we drew Wolves U21s we did some scouting of them and saw he had something about him, he may have performed well against Oldham, we made an approach, he played against us and we did well so we pushed for an answer and he joined.

Anyway, whatever the circumstances, good luck to the lad.

No mate Guthrie is gash. SM knows that. As for is he ready-let's see him in action and then judge.

 

Im sure the wage cap and lack of crowds threw a few plans up in the air. Interestingly I doubt many people were talking about rubbish planning at the start of last season

 

Underwhelming? Who did expect us to sign? He's a young pacey striker who probably wants to progress in the game. You really do need to give yourself a good shake.

We have 3 strikers that are of a similar mould. They are big strikers who can hold the ball or header it in. We need some pace to counter a high line or to make it harder for large but slow CBs. Gunthrie isnt as good as Novak and Samuels would give us much more options. Im willing to bet he plays monday and gets full team before October.

 

Parker said we'd been scouting him for a while. No idea where you've got that idea? Care to share?

 

Im content in us adding Evans and Samuel to our fire power. Evans has a bit of quality in final third and while this kid is unknown, his record at youth level doesnt seem bad. He has pace anyway.....something we lack.

If Novak can keep fit and chip in with the goals we might be ok now we have further options.

 

Thats true. We have had some very average forwards like Bennet, Oteh and Seedorf though.

Just by having some pace will mean that defenders (generally) will not be able to push upfield quite so far as they would with having a Novak/Guthrie/Donaldson attack against them. This in turn should allow the other attacker (whoever is selected) to have a bit more space in which to operate and also allows our midfield to push up a bit more.

 

Spot on Mr F. Remember how L1 and 2 were frightened to death of Nahki. Panicky clearances and mis hit pass backs. Even when he didn't have the ball, Nahki created space for everyone. You could say the same about Isiah but when defenders found out that pace was all he had, they weren't that panicky.
