Got a good feeling of things to come from City now!! I like the feeling of youth and experience we have.

Lets hope so Lancs - knowing how these things work though Monday is a big game for City, lose to the Bettys Tea Boys and (rightly) there will be some very sobering comments. Even WOAP article today talks about the embarrassment of meeting them in a league match, so it is vital we put down a marker in this match or we are going to face a lot of ribbing from not only Harrogate but Leeds and Hudds as well :*@
So young Samuels, if you want to warm yourself even more to City fans - you know what you have to do!

Nope... I want him to succeed. But i fear history will end up repeating itself. He continues to make the same mistakes, and doesn't learn from them. He's a very good coach that I have no doubts.

As for the this signing, I just think like others do, it's very lazy one.

RC - knowing the situation we and many clubs are in, who realistically would you have liked us to sign this window? Just wondering

Can’t say he would fill me with much hope. Seen him play a few times against United u18 and u23's and while he looked good at u18 level he seemed to lose something in the step up which isn’t uncommon, some players who did great at u18 struggle when it steps up to the u23's and they are playing against a wider age gap.

And his stats seem to backup what I’ve seen. They aren’t anywhere near as impressive as they were at u18 level and actually the more he has struggled the worse his stats seem to have become

Why is signing a young prospect from a decent premier club prospect lazy? Don’t agree with that one bit, open your eyes to the uncertainty surrounding football and you will see it’s a very shrewd signing under the circumstances.

The new salary cap implications is going to see a lot more young players getting their chance as older journeymen looking for a last payday get the boot. With a lot less money around the players who show the most hunger and desire will be the ones to succeed. I'm not fully behind the salary cap but it will dictate that big spending in the lower leagues will be drastically curtailed.

No idea what to make as I know nothing about him. I hope this is the result of proper scouting rather than a last minute, lazy and last resort move after we played them the other night.

Our strike force still doesnt fill me with confidence and I'd really hoped we'd move for someone like Hiwula. Looks very much like we're trying to keep costs as low as possible.

Clubs will have to rely much more on scouting, coaching and astute recruitment.

    Erm.....

I'm assuming he won't start on Monday?

Imagine being Guthrie and you get dropped for an u23 loanee.

I think he'll start on the bench, for morale's sake.

The salary cap sucks, it means being stuck on same wage ceiling as the clubs being promoted. But if it means the money saved can be spent strengthening what is a very small backroom staff then maybe there is a some good to come out of it. If this is part of a structured plan for the future looking to bring young talent through then as long as its backed with the infrastructure behind the scenes then i'll back it for some hope of a long term plan. First and foremost what matters most is getting out of this division with a plan attached and not just by the seat of your pants.

Funnily enough, listened to the Wolves match the other night and it was apparent that he was the one Wolves youngster causing is problems, and I thought to myself at the time, this is probably the type of loanee we should be looking at.

Now I dont know if he has been on the radar a while, or whether he impressed McCall enough on the night to enquire there and then for the first time. Whatever the scenario, I am pleased to see him join, and wish him all the best. I wonder if Elliot Watt put a good word in about us to him?

Good! Hopefully he can play on Monday. Looking forward to having some pace up front at last. Next up - get our midfield playing through balls. Actually, scrap that. Vardy thrives on balls over the top, so lets get Oconnor and Staunton lumping it forward!

Personally, If I was looking at Wolves u23 strikers I would have been going for Ennis. He did pretty well at Doncaster last year. He isn't as quick but is a better all-round player. Guessing though he has League 1 clubs sniffing around him though. And perhaps McCall was looking just for pace
