You just don't know if they did apply or try to apply to other countries but were just "moved on".

We all are against illegal immigrants but to vilify those that are approved is plainly wrong.

I don't think I've mentioned an EU rule just commented that we have according to the government we have given France millions to stop the asylum seekers trying to get to the UK either by Euro Star, in lorries, or by the busiest shipping lanes in the world, they France have a responsibility with regards these people and they seem to be turning a blind eye, in fact some quotes saying the French navy are escorting them into British water making the asylum seekers the UK's problem.

We are told the other EU countries are taking more than their share of these people, watching TV and seeing the numbers that have gone to the likes of Greece and Italy etc it doesn't look to many that they have been moved on, most look like families going on the nearest route to get away from their war torn countries that are settling in those countries where as the majority we seem to be getting are young adult men, with no papers no ID and no idea just what sort of problems they might bring to the UK.
I'm not vilifying those that are granted asylum through the legal channels that's the correct way and then governments can be held responsible.

You say you are OK with those granted asylum through the legal channels. What other channels are there to be granted asylum?
And how many young men with no papers and ID are granted asylum?

In answer to your first question the debate is all about asylum seekers/illegal immigration so I'd say those we see on a daily basis plus many more we don't see.

With regards your second question the media say many who come from France etc get rid of any ID so that they can say they have come from a war torn country when they may not have.

Neither you our I know the answer to either question, I very much doubt all asylum seekers go through the system, and as the three video's posted above you could quite clearly see the residents of those hotels were quite free to walk around the grounds and outside in some cases, are all asylum seekers held in secure establishments and wait their turn to be processed, if not they could just take their chance in the black economy, families may be a different situation.

Illegal immigration only exists after an asylum application is made and a refused application absconds into the ether.

Officially yes, obviously that doesn't include the guys risking the lives hanging onto the back of an articulated lorry, or the boat people that have not been picked up by our border patrol, who knows the figures the name illegal suggests its an unknown figure.

Because there are laws which many other desperate people follow and some get asylum some dont but these people think its OK to bypass the legal procedures.

I'm not that's the point, my point about his money isn't because I want his money I've got my own, it's because I find it a bit much that he's constantly held up as a man of the people that tells it like it is when he is anything but if you hold him under the slightest bit of scrutiny

They can work illegally and be exploited by traffickers?

And people are saying this is a good thing and we should be allowing it?

The advantage to going through the correct procedure or the advantage of coming in on the back of a lorry or dinghy, I'd think that is pretty obvious.

There is a black economy that is ever growing and fueled by illegals that is to the detriment of all

That is not a good thing at all. Working illegally and being enslaved is criminal but people still do it.

You have to wonder why someone would work for a pittance outside the system and be a slave. when you can be inside the system and get government aid.

No, I meant what do the individuals who decide to not to apply for asylum actually gain? From what I read its piss poor wages and virtual enslavement by criminal gangs. Who would willingly want to go through that?

They must be really desperate or are being brought in by criminals.

Either way the Government needs to get a grip on the issue.

Completely agree. You would have to wonder why someone would sail across the channel on a dinghy and risk their kids drowning just so they can work illegally on a pittance.

But still, saying that you don't want people to do it is weirdly frowned upon.

I admire your persistence Dennis. You could explain it 17 different ways and he'll still come back at you with something about the EU.

Why do boomers have no empathy?
