Depending how long any possible sale will take it would be suicidal not to make sure the the team has enough money to compete. I am not talking about paying silly money in transfers or wages but enough with good management to be in the mix in division 2

Good point SB unless Bowyer automatically assumed that Todd's would be sorted out after he had signed his what with all the talk of everything being sorted and a good budget for next season etc. If so then I would imagine he is more than a little p*******d off.

Steven Parkin envisaged sporting Bradford with City and the Bulls coming together there was very little support for it among both sets of supporters

You've replied to my other post Park .......... But no worries, I understand what you mean ;)
As for a sports village - Of course it will be opposed by many, yet as it's construction progressed, many would relent and come onboard, purely because people find it difficult to handle 'change'. I was born just 250 yards away from VP, and like City in general, VP is a part of my DNA - Yet I would not oppose a move to a superior sporting village, if it meant that sports of all genre progress for years to come, beyond mine and my Grandkids life times, in Bradford.

Yes, with a good manager like Bowyer and some decent coaching/conditioning staff in support, it would be madness to cut the playing budget to such an extent that we'd be in the same position next season as we are now. I don't imagine that the difference between a bottom four budget and a mid-table budget is much more that £500k and to risk another relegation for that sort of money would be lunacy. Whether Rupp however would be willing to say put in another £1mill or so to give us a chance of being a promotion contender is a very different call if he doesn't see his future at VP. That's another £1mill he'd want on any selling price!

The Gary Bowyer love in is embarrassing to be honest. Yes he has had a couple of successful seasons but managers in the lower leagues are all working under huge constraints. Sol Campbell managed to keep Macclesfield up this season with a non-league budget and his players not being played. The same as Ryan Lowe at Bury. Lee Bowyer at Charlton has done a fantastic job. He has had a terrible start here and while he needs to bring in his own players, I have seen nothing to suggest he is this great coach that we are lucky to have. These types of managers are ten a penny. We are lauding him up as untouchable at the moment.

What an exaggeration. Who is lauding him as untouchable?

He’s a good coach and will do a good job given the right tools is most people’s opinion.

He has a lot to prove. His excuses are ready made though unless he is given a top 2 budget. Let’s not beat around the bush. If we had a top 3 budget this season then based on what you are saying then we should absolutely batter League 2 with him in charge.
Newport are off to Wembley next week. They had a bottom 3 budget. Was there manager given the right tools or did he work with what was given?

Depends how long he is here there may be no interest at all at the moment which means he is here for the season at least first division club is worth more than one in the second division

Micheal Flynn has been at Newport since 2015 in various positions, 2 seasons as manager, nothing like having faith in your manager even with a poor player budget.

What do we think newport County's expectations of Flynn are compared to ours of Bowyer?

I think people are saying based on his record he's a good coach. We've give him absolutely no tools since he's been here and has had to wait til this Summer to attempt to do something, even though it now doesn't sound very positive in terms of what he can do transfer wise. I think people are lauding Bowyer not because he's untouchable but because we miss stability.

I've absolutely hated the last 18 months and the constant turning over of managers has not been enjoyable.

massively disagree, this is easily the worst city squad in our lifetimes so you could have put (Lee) Bowyer, Lowe or Campbell in charge here and theyd have all probably ended up with the 1000 yard PTSD stare the squad have given our Bowyer and Hopkin before him. Management aint our problem. Our bowyer also has experience of working under massive constraints and actually excelling under them (Blackburn/Venkys Pool/Oystons name me two worse nutcase owners apart form roland at charlton) which makes hime well suited to the inevitable massive rebuild we need.

And also, pretty much every good manager has said it takes at least a season to identify who in your team can play and who needs to move on. Brian Clough almost got Hartlepool relegated at his first attempt Whilst Hopkin took livingston down in his first season before back to back promotions. My point being that we havent seen a proper bowyer team yet and need to give him time to build it before we start carping for his head. We've tried the managerial merry go round this season and it gave us pretty much the worst pro team in the country. and relegated bottom of the league. When will folks realise you have to give a manager at least a season to bed in come what may. If you don't then you should never have appointed him in the first place.

    - For the record i dont think bowyer will take us down again so we should give him time to build a proper team, not a five mnute sticking plaster job so many seem to want.
