That's right. He clearly had ability but often made bad decisions in attacking positions. Hopefully that has changed with experience.

I tend to agree with you regarding his running and use of the ball.

In the two games against us last season he had clearly matured and was sometimes more central and carried the ball well and passed well. There were some comments on the match thread at the time about how much he'd improved.

I wonder if he'll be competition for Cooke and able to play centrally in the three behind Cook? I think he'll fit better than Vernham or Crankshaw in that role. They need to be wider but I reckon Gilliead could do it.

 

Well I hope Scunthorpe were deadly last season, because we're relying on two thirds of their attack in Eisa and Gilliead!

Interestingly, Songo'o was considered a poor player at Scunny...

I think it was both, especially once we'd switched to 4-2-3-1 under T&S.

Our wings weren't good enough which backs up your point, but we had NO back up in central midfield (to the point that Clayton Donaldson was an attacking midfielder lol) and up front we had nothing behind Cook after Rowe checked out after his five game blitz early on.

 

Adams has said that his teams create chances and like to attack so Gilliead does seem to fit the bill.

 

Higher than yours it seems.

Some of our fans like Colin Doyle because he lives local and likes the club, Donaldson who has signed two divisions below should have had a new contract according to many, maybe the same ones who said Billy Clarke should be kept on. Some thought Guthrie and Samuels would score goals.
