Derek stifled the players with his negative approach and destroyed relationships. With proper man management we can have a real good go with no pressure in these final months.

we’ve drawn 13 matches due to his one upfront/safety first mentality. Had we shown more intent and finished teams off we would be closer to the playoffs

 

On the bright side Levi Sutton has a chance of making the team on Saturday now. No way was he starting Saturday if Adams was still here, after his post match interview on Saturday which suggested actually things weren't as rosy as Adams was painting.

I agree with your general points but in this instance I think it had to happen For instance Saturday was a must win game and yet the midfielders were 10 yards behind Cook no intent at all. And his digs at the club and the crowd was turning the mood toxic. I fully agree that we can’t keep on sacking managers every few months though

 

Not strictly true. There is a very interesting article on his time at Plymouth in their papers website. He was successful at Plymouth, and granted that was for three seasons with a playoff loss, automatic promotion and a 7th place finish, but when it started to go badly he did exactly what he has done here and turn on the fans rather that find a way out of it.

If you look at the Morecambe site from when he left there is very little in the way of overt praise for him, and also not much in the way of expressing a loss at him leaving.

Like you, I thought he was the best man for the job, but as soon as he lost Angol he had no plan B. I'd wager that his success at Plymouth was because his plan A worked for so long, and his downfall was that once that turned bad be again had no plan B.

I don't want to diss his achievement at Plymouth, but he had some very very good players there like Sarcevic, Jervis & Carey and in 17/18 they benefited from £5,000,000 further investment.

 

I think the only shock is that the board had the balls to take this action (which was needed).

Flynn has been suffering some mh issues. Regardless of whether people think he'd be an upgrade or downgrade on Adams, for the good of his own health, I hope he is nowhere near any shortlist that may or may not have been drawn up.

 

Who ever takes over can blame Adams for all the dross he has signed, just like marino Adams has done since he was made manager. Where is his next job Barcelona, that's what level he thinks he is.
