Adams sacked

Time to take a different view from the stands. Give the new manager a FULL season to rectify things, not to expect promotion next season and really start to build. If promotion comes along then great, we will take it, but we should go into the season expecting transition and build as quickly (or slowly) as is needed.

The worst thing that can happen now is we get a new manager and get on his back from October if we aren't in the mix.

Adams might just have got that if he had played entertaining football and not been so abrasive towards players, fans and the media. The telling statistic for me in Adams' approach is that we have only won two games by a two or more goal margin.

Time for a complete reset and some patience.

 

I was one of the infamous “111” who voted for Adams. Genuinely thought he would be the man who succeeded. Admittedly this was based purely on his record at other clubs.
Unfortunately his brand of football was just dire and his previous record of falling out with fans has reared its head again.

Shows how wrong you can be sometimes.

 

I thought he was a great appointment and that you'd be Champions or close this season. I've been amazed that you've underperformed as you have. I would have stuck with him well into next season but I've read how unhappy many on here have been with him. Derek Adams' achievement last season showed what a good and capable manager he is. Where do you go from here?

 

Well done Sparks? What, the man that brought in a head of recruitment, talked about a vision of developing youth, then gave Adams a 3 year contract and immediately abondoned the youth development plan and sacked off the head of recruitment. That Sparks? The man that changed Trueman & Sellers job titles every week and that extended Stuart's contract two weeks before sacking him? That Sparks?
Be honest, do you really trust him to get it right this time, or do you think we will be in exactly the same position this time next year?

 

At least the window full of loanees means we’re not too lumbered in the summer and a quite a few out of contract too-let’s the new manager have more control over who he wants

 

peter taylor was worse. I also care because as we did with bowyer, we've just let that guy spunk the remainder of our transfer budget and then sacked him. february is literally the dumbest time to sack a manager in my opinion and we do it repeatedly

 

What are you still sticking up for the failure? He couldn't hack it here pure and simple, a massive fail on his CV

Can't really trust the judgement of our CEO so we need a football head to oversee all due process.

It wasn't universally welcomed Kev. I remember a well known journalist round these parts telling my mate of results don't go your way you will soon see the real side Adams. A defensive style of football coupled with very abrasive comments in the press. The journo watched it happen at Plymouth.

 

Tbf it’s only his first full transfer window surely a manager has got to be given that to turn it round

I wanted him out which I have said often since the Orient game. But based on his record of achievement he was the best for the job except with hindsight

 

It will be interesting to see if Reece Staunton is now given the chance to show that he is a better centre half than Songo'o.

 

It only happened after a very successful few years at Plymouth and there was no such noises at Morecambe

 

All short term deals / loans . Will all be gone in may. I have known our fan base as didn’t connected to the club as it was under adams .

 

Depends on his contract but normally it’s fixed term, we sack him, he gets paid in full.

The only way out if he was to be sacked for a disciplinary offence.

It really rally doesn't matter a jot what he did elsewhere, he was an absolute failure here because he failed to improve anything in his time here. Good riddance to the sour face Scot.

Sacking Adams is the right choice but I have no faith in the decision makers finding the right man this time either. I'm even less sure that the fans will buy into any manager who doesn't fit these fantasy ideals.
