Hello Bantams hope you are all well, or as well as you can be in the circumstances! First of all I'm not here to cause mischief. I've enjoyed reading your forum for years now (even more so with Derek being at the helm) so thought it was about time I chipped in with my six pennies worth and thought you might appreciate the views of an outsider. Your forum is a good read, full of characters and plenty of content, everything required really, definitely never boring and often highly amusing!

I'm mainly here to discuss the common denominator that is the dour Scotsman. He's literally just been confirmed as the new incumbent at the Mazuma, but it's been the best kept secret since the other guy walked out on Monday. One things for sure he goes in to manage, not to be everyone's best friend. He might be abrasive and rub folk up the wrong way but you can't argue with his track record, before he came to yourselves that is. We have received decent compo now for the last three managers Bentley, Adams and Robinson so seem to be making a cottage industry out of managers walking out on us.LOL.

First of all I understand that you are all desperate for success. Having tasted the 'big time' a few years ago you want it back so much it hurts. Fair play! I must admit whenever I walk into Valley Parade I stand for a minute and gaze across from the MR stand at that massive stand opposite and think what the hell are this lot doing in the basement league, with their fan base and all. However eight managers in four years (most of whom were decent managers elsewhere) says it all. They seem to be put under massive pressure from the get go and you've got to admit you are very quick to slaughter them when it isn't going quite to plan. Just remember Rome wasn't built in a day and sometimes a bit more patience might pay dividends. Your CEO Sparks needs to have a look at himself too. No sooner had Derek walked in the door than he made that now famous statement "Anything other than promotion this season will be viewed as failure". Ouch, talk about setting someone up to fail. I get the impression Sparks is a salesman rather than a dyed in the wool football man. He is good at hype and spin but not the nitty gritty football stuff, but then I'm not telling you anything you don't already know! I know you also have issues with Rupp, but at the end of the day does anyone really know how much financial backing he is putting in? Anyway back to Derek. Square pegs for square holes and all that. He will certainly be given more time at our place and be under a bit less pressure to succeed. It would be great if he can keep us in league one and really wouldn't surprise me if he did, despite an incredibly difficult run of games coming up. However the bookies have us as long odds on to go down and they usually get it right so we'll probably be welcoming you back to Bradford on Sea next season in what is always one of the most eagerly awaited fixtures for us.

One last thing before I depart. I notice AOC gets bad press on here! Admittedly he had a shaky start at our place but most of us stuck by him and he's probably number two on the team sheet now just behind Stockton. He's club captain and is turning in decent performances consistently. Maybe that old pressure thing again. You can tell he puts massive pressure on himself to succeed and it hurts him when we lose, the last thing he needs is the fanbase crucifying him as well because everyone has a limit before they crumble!

Good luck with the next manager whomever that might be. Just maybe give him a bit longer than some of the others had.

Sorry for rambling on, all the best and see you next season probably.

Good luck. You'll need it with deluded Derek back there. He is, however, a winner and the best man for any job.
