We've been L2 or equivalent for the majority of our time in FL. That's a lot of failed owners over the years

I’ve said this before - why have so many managers been shit/failed? Something fundamentally wrong at this club. All been in Rupp era.

I've said it elsewhere but I believe that Rupp has a vision for the club.... it's just not one which most fans would support.

    It goes like this

    1. The club can continue to operate so long as it doesn't cost me any of my own money
    2. It that means ticking over in the khazi league, so be it
    3. If the club needs better players, better coaches etc, then the club's CEO will have to find the money from within the budget I've set
    4. If we get promoted, so be it but don't look to me to fund it. I will of course take any increase in the club's value when I sell it
    5. If there is any spare cash in the club in the mean time, I'll take it as a return on my original investment
    6. If somebody makes me an offer to buy the club, I'll only sell if it meets my asking price.
    7. And I'll appoint a CEO who will manage all of this for me 'cos I have little interest in football

That's how it is and there is plenty of evidence to support it. That strategy would be almost identical to any other business which is dependent on a single owner, who doesn't want to invest and who doesn't need the company to grow. That's Rupp's mindset.

As I said a short while ago, the strategy will continue and the club simply sustain itself until the owner is required for his own self interest to put his hands in his pockets. That will only happen when fans cut off one of the club's big revenue streams .. by not buying season tickets for next season. That will hurt Rupp hard .. more than banners or placards ever will.

    It's depressing isn't it

The only effective way for the fans to effect change is to hurt the club we support by not paying a penny more, until he sells to someone with a positive vision for the future.

We've only had one manager since Jewell was forced out who has had any semblance of success. That's almost 22 years ago now and encompasses different owners, CEO's and budgets. This isn't just a failure of current ownership.

@Dennis@Dennis is right that the only way to make Stefan sit up and notice is to hit him in the pocket, a banner, a fly over and so on are irrelevant if you’re 1,000 miles away. I don’t think you’ll see a better summary of Rupp’s position that what Dennis laid out. A fall in ST sales is to be expected after a year of broken promises and dreadful football but it won’t be as big a fall as it could be.

This thread though is a good example of City’s fan base, it’s Rupp’s fault, Ryan’s, Adams’, Rupp is blameless, it’s all Derek’s fault, we’ve always been fourth division so why should be expect more, we could be Bury and so on. I don’t think you would get any serious backing for a not one penny more campaign, too many people are scared of it. They’re happy with fourth division football, and they’re right, it is better than being Bury, but it’s not a binary choice, it’s not a case of Stefan or being Bury.

We’re stuck with Rupp because there is zero chance of a united campaign to get him out. But if he stays there’s a chance of relegation and that might kill the club.

On the rare occasions Rupp speaks he comes out with crap like that, Sparks is as bad and so is Adams. It’s so unbelievable it’s laughable.

Yeah imagine driving home listening to your manager throwing you under the bus :( why can he simply not come out and see WE made errors instead of outing individual players .......... did he pick on Cook for missing chances ????? If he did then I doubt Cook would be having that ........... sadly he goes for easy targets not players who will give him it back ......... probably the reason Ellison at Morecambe couldn’t do with him

Unfortunately the time has now come for Sparks/Rupp to take the bull by the horns, bite the bullet and terminate Adams' contract with immediate effect - it just isn't working is it?
It'll be no doubt very expensive, but it surely must be done - and now. It does appear that the dressing room has gone, the players and fans have no confidence in him at all, that is now quite evident.
Action must be taken to move this club out of this god-damn awful division - this will not happen as we thought, under Derek Adams unfortunately.
Target and employ a new manager now, who has more forward thinking ideas, let him assess the squad until the end of the season so that he can start all over again (again)

And repeat, and repeat, and repeat.

Rupp out - how? How do fans force an absent owner to sell an asset at a loss if he doesn't want to. Not possible.

    Who recruits managers? Sparks.

    Who employs Sparks? Rupp.

Who recruits new manager if Adams goes - Sparks, unless he goes and that's unlikely it seems unless Rupp goes, which we can't force.

How does Sparks spot this up and coming new manager who is certain to work here? Doesn't seem to be his modus operandi does it.

Or persist with someone who we at least know can get teams promoted regardless of his apparent lack of ability to endear himself to anyone?

Be careful what you wish for guys, especially when it is totally lacking in any logic.

I think most know why Steve Bruce was never going to be accepted by the Newcastle fans, I suggest for similar reasons Benitez was never going to be acceptable to the majority of Everton fans, were a queer lot us football fans.

This would be for the best, Put Adams on gardening leave till we can afford a deal to get rid of him and put Truman and one of the coaches in charge till the end of the season, They truly could not do any worse

Logic tells us that constant changing of managers will get us nowhere but at what point do we have to wait to see improvement? Because as we currently stand as a team we are no better or further forward than we were under Bowyer or others. Forget the points accrued in the games before yesterday, the football is devoid of any idea and once again, with a day to go, it looks like another botched January with little attention to how we are going to integrate new players into largely non existent system. To be honest we should have seen some sort of improvement by now, the fact we haven't needs to addressed by the powers running the club.
