He also looks like he's carrying a knock from that first Crawley game that he hasn't shaken off due to the fact we can't rest him.

 

As much as I'd like to see Cook fit and raring to go, I'd like to see how the team plays without him. I think the review given by the Wrexham fan regarding attacking at pace, shows to me that good sides tend to have this. If we can take the chances presented on Tuesday night, then it might get the whole side up and running. Take nothing away from Cook because last season was exceptional, but until he's fully fit he shouldn't be shoehorned back into the first 11. This will prevent us pulling defences around, if he's struggling to get around the pitch when he's carrying a knock.

 

I doubt it. They arent getting Ryan Giles and Caneron Archer back Petrov! They stormed the league after Carrick joined but they used the loan market superbly last year. Giles went back to his parent club and was sold to Luton. Archer went back to Villa and now on loan at Sheff Utd. They lost others too. Tough season ahead for Carrick unless he can work his magic in the loan market this weekend.

edit: the others they lost were Zak Steffen back to Citeh and Aaron Ramsey back to Villa. Four huge losses and they’re seemingly feeling it!

 

Yet the same Wrexham fan said Bradford City are the worst team Wrexham have played this season ?.

That was his opinion as he saw it and having seen other opponents. We aren’t that good at the moment so I don’t take exception to his comment. I’d also add that the majority of this board have been saying the same thing for the last few weeks. We will improve I’m sure, but for now we’re a fair bit off being a side that other teams should be worried about.

 

As I posted you take notice of a fan who's team we have just knocked out of the EFL Cup in front of a near fill house, your a real funny guy .

 

I do take exception. If you come onto another clubs fan board, and you come in peace, why make a statement like that? It is one thing our own fans knowing we are not up to scratch yet, it is quite another the opposition saying we are the worst team. That is his opinion but I would suggest he take a walk. I don’t think Wrexham are in anyway the real deal yet either or even if they will make it this season. Just my view, but at least I am not telling them that.

As I used to say when hit a 4 off the edge of my bat. Look in the scorebook, it says 4, no mention of/why it was given.

 

I don't think Cooky Monster is carrying a load of excess llbs/kilos, a lot of it is down to posture, he walks with his arse stuck out. If he was scoring fans wouldn't be saying he is scoring despite all that excess weight.
He is still getting into good positions, he just needs a goal to get the ball rolling! MH keeps saying what we all know that Andy Cook is a confidence player. He looked Sharp in pre-season, whoever the opposition was.

 

Agreed, but if you continue to edge every ball you won't be at the crease long enough to have a memorable innings.

 

I take that with a pinch of salt Dave. Wrexham had quite a few shots but they were at home and a lot of those shots were high, wide and not so handsome. Personally for most of the game I thought it was our best performance so far. The pressing and quick movement from Walker, Smith and Pattison caused them lots of problems and Halliday for me showed he should be in the starting eleven and I think everyone must have been impressed with Bobby Pointon's contribution when he came on.

The chances we created were half to decent and with better quality in our striker dept, would have scored or at least make the keeper work a bit more than what he actually did do.

I wouldn't at all be surprised. Tactics are dreadful and only by sheer luck that we amassed 111 points last season due to the gulf in quality.

Again, not the worst team, but in terms of performances and attacking ability, not the worlds best our team has seen and no doubt won't be the worst. Also, just to be pedantic, you only drew and a lottery of the pens got you through to the next round.

Comparing the directness, pressing etc, wasn't a patch on compared to MKD or Swindon, thats why they managed to bag so many goals, + having a keeper who cant dive when 40 years old, didn't help.

Anyway i've come in peace, shared my experiences of our side and where I think our team is at at the moment and given some info for you to come over for the game as i'd read a few comments where there was little to no info. I wish you good luck in the next round v Middlesbrough.

They are starting to address things with the arrival of O'Brien on a season long loan. A couple more of his calibre in before the close of the window and they could start to look a very different proposition.
