    The insistence of taking in swinging corners doesn't help.

    It plays the ball straight into the goalies hands, makes it harder for an attacker to get his head on a ball that is going away from him, and easier for a defender to attack the ball with his head as it's coming towards him.

    Out swingers mean the keeper has to come off his line, might flap at getting the ball and end up punching the head of an attacker, the attacker can meet the ball coming towards him and the defender has more chance of being second to the ball as it it veering away from him.
