    Draw takes place tonight, after the Burton v Leicester match. So who do we want? Personal preference is a local-ish ground i've not been to before, or a home tie against a L2 team, or dirty L**ds

    I think 12 Prem teams enter the draw as well, so it won't be divided into North & South like the first round was? So i'm sure an away draw to a Prem club would also be welcomed by the club to boost the coffers

    The draw is split North/South with the 12 Premier League clubs entering to be split 5/7.
    If it's 5 to the Northern section it will be Burnley, Everton, Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest and Wolves. If it is 7 then it will include Aston Villa and Luton so with them 2 I'd expect 5 Premier League sides in the northern section.

    The likely ball numbers for the Northern section will be
    1 Aston Villa
    2 Blackburn Rovers
    3 Blackpool
    4 Bolton Wanderers
    5 Bradford City
    6 Burnley
    7 Crewe Alexandra
    8 Doncaster Rovers
    9 Everton
    10 Harrogate Town
    11 Lincoln City

    15 Rotherham United
    16 Salford City

    A winnable home game would be my preference at this point-Donny wouldn’t be a bad shout for a reasonable attendance and chance of winning.

    If we don’t get a home tie I won’t get to a live game until mid September, so from a purely selfish POV any home game will do.

    I had a quick look for info on whether the 3nd round was another North/South split but couldn't find anything, hence my assumption it was all mixed again

    Slight error on this as I forgot Aston Villa are in Europe this season and I put them in the North when they would have been in the South section. These are the correct ball numbers with

    The 3rd round goes national, part of the thinking I'd guess is to give an increased chance of a big Premier League clash for Sky with more options rather than the big 6 being split 3 and 3. There was a time when round 2 was national but I think that changed a couple of years ago
