Sky don’t give a toss about any of that. They didn’t even mention our cup run when drawing our name out but told us about Birmingham winning it 60 years ago or something lol

Decent draw. Being away ain't great but there league 2 like us. You know, a good opportunity to progress .

I didn’t watch the southern draw but noticed that they mentioned Bolton being finalists in 2004, but when it came to us just said we were Phil Parkinson’s former team. Sky are so cringy it’s pathetic.

 

Bolton are a bigger club, maybe that's there thinking. Or maybe just didn't recall our success. I can't imagine an agenda

 

I’d say a smaller club achieving the feat more recently would be more noteworthy. I don’t think there was an agenda against us other than to make sure when Wrexham and the team they were playing were drawn, that it was all connected to Wrexham. Interestingly when the notable numbers were put on the screen before the draw, only 2 were from league 2. One was Mansfield, as Clough was a pundit and I’m sure the other is easy to guess. The likes of Bolton and Portsmouth never got a mention in the list. Club size had nothing to do with the respective comments imo.

 

Forgot about the draw. Easy win for Wrexham. Unless our team improve quickly!

Probably the two TV games. Think ours will be on the shortlist but the 2 above will appeal more to Sky and the casual viewer.

An all league 2 clash will have no interest outside of Wrexham and Bradford for TV audience neutrals.

Closest we came was being 2-0 up against Bolton and managed to feck it up.

 

Wrexham are always on the shortlist IMO. The media love in proof of that!

Wrexham vs Wigan. Laughable! Gills vs Saints, Preston vs Salford, Stevenage vs Watford were all more appealing R1 ties IMO.

How many tickets will we get. More than the 700 we’ll get for the league game I guess.

 

Probably won't be on Sky with the other ties listed. Unless the US have their own rights for the League Cup and someone like ESPN air it?

No doubt the FX crew will be down there filming for the documentary and make a big thing of the Parkyness of it all.

 

I was on the beach and it hit me that we've only played Parky sides twice since he left and that was Bolton both times. Couldn't be arsed deleting it. Personally I don't mind the draw at all, they ain't anywhere near as good as folk think they are, without Mullin they are half the team.

 

Definately beatable. A good chance to qualify for R3. Would have preferred the home tie though. Or maybe not...

 

This draw has meant that 6 of our first 8 games are away. Prefer a few more home games for the newer lads to get used to performing infront of people a bit regularly.

Certainly winnable, unless they pull off some more razzle dazzle signings as the game will be a day or two before the end of the window. Wrexham have reportedly offered Peterborough £500K for Tshimanga, the former Boreham Wood and Chesterfield striker who was linked with us for about 6 windows straight. He was loaned with an obligation to buy to Peterborough in Jan, hasn't scored in 10 outings yet. They bought him for £250K in May but looks like he's dropped to 3rd choice forward at best.

 

Who gives a xxxx its only a cup we are Bradfoird City and we are going up ......................... Last time at Bolton for Parky reunuon was superb 5-6 k there (most of them drunk)

 

EFL Cup rules are the same as the league apart from no cap at 2000 so they'll have to give us the 1063 they gave Wigan.
