Thanks for this Dennis. This appears to confirm that the suite upgrade is 'free' but they have actually increased the price of the ticket by £50%!
I can feel another email to Mr Sparks brewing in my fevered brain.

    My reply to Ryan Sparks,

    Thank you for your reply.

However I was very disappointed that you only addressed the price of the suites and not the price of a 25 yearer season ticket. I don’t mind how much you charge for the suites as I don’t use them anymore.

When Julian Rhodes originally said we would pay the same as a suite ticket I don’t think he envisaged that the club would increase the price by 50% in one season.

I think you should have frozen the price (at £120) like you have done for every other season ticket. I would be happy if the 25 year ticket was scrapped after the 2025/26 season as originally intended.

It is especially unfair for those age 65 plus supporters who would be better off paying £174 for that season ticket instead of £180 for the 25 yearer one.

Could you please rethink your decision.

I agree. There's only 600 or so 25 yearers left. I doubt that more than half of those use the suites. So I'd say it's a pretty small proportion of the regular suite clientele.
Which makes it all the more galling that we are being arm-twisted into subsidising them.

I know. It seems increasingly obvious that the club is intending to make all 25 yearers help finance the the cost of upgrading their failing suites, whether or not we ever use them. It's a blatant rip-off.

Has anyone had any clarity on the clubs new policy that to access any of the suites you must have a seat in those areas?
When I checked yesterday there were no seats available to purchase in the Bantams Bar executive areas so how could I possibly move there even if I wanted to?
Yet another example of the club charging £60 more for a suite upgrade that I now can’t possibly use.

Exactly... North parade is rammed before the match

I don't see the attraction of getting to VP early for a beer

That's identical to the email I got. They are clearly just sending out standard replies and completely ignoring the issue of charging for services that aren't/can't be used.

I paid by cheque and have never set foot in a suite. I've no idea what is in them except that they look drab through the door window.

I got - and still have - a book of vouchers for each season and remember nothing about continuity being specified. You redeemed a voucher each year for a season ticket for the year printed on the voucher, though they stopped bothering taking them when it all became more computerised. (I kept offering.) I understood missing a year (illness, sabatical, whatever), or transferring or selling the voucher to someone else, was permitted and did not nullify subsequent vouchers. Anyone that still has vouchers should be able to use them regardless of whether they miss a season or not. That's what I understand as my "grandfathered" (custom and practice) rights. I might add that each voucher also allowed you to switch seats. The voucher asked if you wanted to retain the same seat or switch to a different one each season. It cautions that you could lose your seat if it was not renewed in line with deadlines for others - but that refers to the specific seat chosen and not the season ticket.

Having said all that, they can drop them for me. I'm grateful to have a club that brings cheap football to the masses and I'm sick of being treated as some kind of scrounger when I put over a grand into home tickets and kiosk food each year and have brought lots of people to the club over decades. Now whose backside do I shove it up?

I'm assuming these are closed meetings and won't be offered as a semi open forum or such?

I'm curious to know if there are any similar affected 25 year holders on the board that's all and if the issue will be addressed properly rather than it being paid a bit of lip service?

And don’t forget about the ones who want a suite, are willing to pay for the suite but now can’t use one because there are no available seats and they won’t allow access to the suite unless you have a seat in that area.
It’s all an absolute cluster feck yet again from the management.

I’ve had a reply from the supporters board chair. I’m clarifying he totally understands the beef we have, but mentions others have been in touch with him?! I’ve also emailed the T&A editor but not heard back from him yet. I’m hoping all those effected make use of emailing the supporters trust. The more the merrier.

I must admit, I held off from buying mine because I felt sure that given time to consider, the club would offer the compromise that they have done for the people who don't use the suites.
I know it is still cheap, but felt they hadn't really thought it through.
Only a couple of years left now then we will no longer be a drain on the club.

Exactly, it was to help get the CVA through. That makes it pretty binding.

Or maybe welsh on the deal and make you pay every year for something you've already paid for in advance?

City are selling season tickets that are in real terms less than a decade ago.

Yes they have. You have had a discounted season ticket for years, on the basis that you paid a lump sum upfront. But you got that lump sum refunded, so you've been getting (even) cheap(er) STs on a false premise. That discount is money lost to the club every year, that you would have otherwise paid.

I'm not saying I blame you. Most people would choose to pay a lower sum if offered that option. But to say that the club haven't lost out is simply wrong.
