25 Year 'Season Tickets' (Now with Suites Poll)

Why not ask for a free membership so you can get a few quid of the stuff in the club shop they can't sell before anyone else as an offset against the price rise.

 

Wow. That has shocked me. The walking ego has got this badly wrong. It doesn't effect me as i don't have a 25 year ticket but this a classic own goal if you pardon the football analogy. I'd keep calling him out on it as hes not one to like being questioned as i heard from someone yesterday.

 

Back in the mists of time I did use the Bantams Bar for two seasons and I accept that it's a reasonably convivial bar. But for those in the main stand, the upstairs suite is a soulless aircraft hanger with crap beer which I have no interest in using. And those in the Midland Rd stand have no suite option but are still being forced to pay for one.

Why can't the club maintain the ST price for 25 yearers, as they have for everyone else, and offer the suite upgrade at £60 to those 25 yearers who want it?

 

It's highly unlikely that anything like 90% of those in the suites are 25 yearers. But I agree, it would be good to know what proportion of the approx 600 remaining 25 yearers use the suites.

 

If you ignore the fact that I, and most other 25 yearers, have already paid £100 per season on top of current prices, which is why we get the discounted price.

 

Very interesting that 75% of us 25 yearers don't use the suites.

Thanks for this Dennis. This appears to confirm that the suite upgrade is 'free' but they have actually increased the price of the ticket by £50%!

who said anything about eating at half time? I don’t, I eat and drink before the match, at lunchtime, not 3.45

 

I use the Bantams Bar but don’t sit in that area coz it’s a shit atmosphere and I prefer the upper Kop. Which is quite annoying as I need to explain to the stewards every week why they need to let me through the door into the Kop.

 

So if they had decided to put up suite prices to £200 they would have charged 25 yearers the same? This is crazy as it’s more than a adult season ticket.

 

As someone who doesn't use the suites, is there a specific area of seating for bantams bar users or can they sit anywhere in the kop? Just curious, I have no intention of getting an upgrade.

 

I'd be more than happy with that compromise.

 

I’ve never used one, but still getting a cheaper season ticket than most pay so can’t really grumble, even if it has increased.

"Further to my previous email (below) I would like to point out the wording of the 25 Year ST pricing on the club's official website:
"As per previous seasons, ’25 Yearers’ are entitled to a complimentary upgrade in one of these suites as part of their season ticket, which will be priced at £180"
'Complimentary' means 'free' or 'without additional charge". Logic dictates that, if the suite upgrade is free, you must have increased the basic price of the 25 year ST by 50%. If so, this is clearly discriminatory when all other ST prices have been frozen at last season's rate.

The club can't have it both ways. This is either an enforced suite upgrade (whether we want it or not) at a compulsory additional charge of £60 - ie not at all 'complimentary'- or a 50% hike in the basic season ticket price. Either is totally unethical when all other supporters have had their ST prices frozen. But which is it?

Why can't you freeze the 25 year ST price, as you have for all other ST holders, but offer the suite upgrade to those 25 yearers who want it for an additional £60? Or are you worried that insufficient of us would choose the upgrade to meet your financial target? If the latter, this simply proves that you are expecting those 25 yearers who don't (or cannot) use the suites to subsidise others (whether or not 25 yearers) who do.

Once again, I urge you to rethink this unwarranted, discriminatory price hike imposed on longstanding loyal supporters.

I am also aware that other 25 yearers have written to you on this matter but have yet to receive a response and I would politely ask you to reply to their queries as well as mine."
