I do wonder how many extra games would be postponed during this period compared to previous years.
Given we are in the colder months, a lot of games will be subject to pitch inspections due to the frost etc. For a 1pm kick off any inspection would have to take place at 10am when all the frost will still be in the ground. A 3pn kick off gives you an extra 2 or 3 hours of potentially warmer weather to get the game playable

What are Bradford City going to do next change everyone’s working hours from 9-5 to 7-3?
It’s things like this that lets football down. 14k plus brought season tickets with 3pm kick off times, some people live more than 20 miles away, some people work on a Saturday morning etc. They is no consideration to them people.
The reason I would vote NO is because like the rest of the country and most industries football should be sucking up the bills. Blame the government, blame Russia, blame whoever but we should be all in it together.
Next season if the EFL and PL want to move kick off times then fine but now should be a no.
If Bradford City do it then they don’t appreciate then 17k that go in my opinion.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
No thanks, season tickets were sold for 3 a clock kick off, in winter the flood lights will be on any way at that time.

Reading the replies, then it seems as though a significant number of Bantam Talk members have commitments which would prevent them from getting to 1.00 pm kick offs.
From a personal point of view it makes little difference.
City have not been totally transparent. If they said the heating/lighting cost of playing the game at 1.00 pm was £X, whereas playing at 3.00 pm was £Y, then we could see the difference. At the moment none of us have any accurate idea as to the savings/additional costs involved.
However I really hope the club takes into account the views of Supporters, who cannot change times, and in solidarity with those, I think City should stick to 3.00pm kick offs.
If the EFL stated it was going to change at the beginning of the season that would be different, as people would have some opportunity to review before paying.
Just a small observation. If an occasional game is cancelled on a Saturday, then a mid week 7.45 option is used. That is also very inconvenient for some. I also wonder how many decided not to go to Harrogate because it was a 1.00pm kick off?Kevin1954, Petrov, bantamdave41 and 3 others like this. -
Definitely not for me, for various reasons. Stick to 3pm KO's
Also seems ridiculous that they are considering this for Saturdays (17k fans in ground) yet are fine with playing the mickey mouse pub trophy on a midweek evening in front of a vastly reduced audience. Something doesn't add up (literally)CRASS, RCarol, Bantam-in-Greece and 3 others like this. -
Again thinking through the implications.
There are a number of children who have separated parents. They live with one parent and see the other, often on a Saturday morning. So children who are Supporters, could be put in a predicament, should I see my parent or go to City!
In some cases where there is dispute between separated parents, a Court Contact Order can specify the time of sessions. Parents who are unhappy with the arrangements can use any issues (they left early….they are trying to change the times to fit their football in) to alter/reduce Contact time.
The more you look at this proposed change the more issues you can see arising.Rogered Tart, Tom Hallett, Fools Gold and 3 others like this. -

I’m all for it but is it really fair on the poor sods who signed up to buy season tickets who thought every game would be a 3pm start ?????
If this is the way forward then I think that it shouldn’t come into play until next season just to be fair to everyoneWakefield Bantam, bantamdave41, RCarol and 2 others like this. -

There is an article in the Athletic https://theathletic.com/3633307/2022/09/28/cost-of-living-efl-national-league/ which bands about the figure of £300 per hour for floodlights. If it is £600 per game for seven matches, then the potential saving of moving the games would be £4,200. That is the equivalent of 30 spectators paying the early bird price of £20 entry.
The club has not put out any comparative figures to justify the move. In legal terms the clubs position is unsubstantiated ‘what if’.Fools Gold, bantamdave41, Bronco and 2 others like this. -
Common sense prevails thankfully. Earlier KO’s alienate much more of the fan base than the clowns in charge of the EFL initially thought. Hopefully the subject doesn’t resurface anytime soon

Like you I have changed my view. The evidence to win the argument was not in place. That is the approximate difference in cost of the two options. I also had not thought through the consequences on a lot of other supporters.
I have changed my vote accordingly.
I have written to the club to tell them that I had now changed my view, unless they produced more detail, which made it absolutely compelling.
I suggest that members write to the Club. It is absolutely pointless to complain (moan) and do nothing about it!

Obviously I don’t go to games, so me voting no is for purely selfish reasons. We’ve got a +2 time difference over here. That means on Saturday I can commit to any of my wife or kids wishes during the day, and still get to watch the match in the evening. My family are conditioned to the fact that we’re all home (or at least I am) by 5pm. Kicking off at 1pm, 3pm my time, is going to deny my family from spending time with me!
On a serious note, I agree with a lot of the others. Surely the floodlights will need to be on at some stage anyway? Also think plenty of pubs and cafes will miss out. People will be brunching before the game at home. Maybe go out afterwards, but 3pm boozing is that weird limbo time when it’s too early to stay out all night. Feel sorry for those travelling distances to get to the game too.
Personally I don’t think it’ll happen. Lots of stuff behind the scenes too - staff and police will all have to agree to the changes.Fools Gold, Fordy117, bantamdave41 and 1 other person like this. -

If clubs came out to fans and said "we want to do this because it saves X amount of pounds" then fine but not one club has put any actual guesstimate figures into the equation, never mind anything closer to the real figure. This is despite clubs carrying out surveys to decide if fans would accommodate the changes?
If the clubs seriously want fans to help then at least do the studies properly, release the appropriate information and make the surveys worthwhile.
It really has been poor from EFL clubs imo.bantamdave41, Bigrod, Dennis and 1 other person like this. -

What about public transport, buses, trains which run a reduced service on such a day?
What about club staff, stewards whom are currently due to work Saturdays and get Sunday regularly as a day off?
What about all the folk whom play Sunday league football?
What about folk whom watch the Bulls on a Sunday?
What about the initial EFL findings on extra costs for overnight accommodation?
What about Sunday as a family day?
What about competing with Live Sky football on a Sunday? What that have an impact on attendances?
The list goes on...
How about leaving our game as it is. 3pm Saturday. If it ain't broken....
Your suggestion is utterly wrong Park.Gardscoigne, NorthernMonkey, WilsdenBantam and 1 other person like this. -
The wording on the questionnaire kind of tells me that they are planning on doing it if both teams agree. Sure, if there was a majority against it they might not bother but I can imagine this decision is probably already made, or near enough.
