Sooooooo why did they play their match against Hartlepool on a Friday evening, rather than a Saturday afternoon?

Surely the lights would have had to be on for longer?

Why not move it to a 1.00pm kick off, if Hartlepool would agree?

According to Vince he's quoting non LED costs as he says FGR don't in have them. And this guy understands energy costs as it's part of his business

So that leads you to agree that it is really all part of a bigger scheme to put pressure on the PL to fund more of the football down the pyramid.

Our 100% record in 1pm kick offs makes this an easy decision.

This is nothing but a political statement.

It literally costs about £100 to have floodlights on on a matchday.

Would our total savings by doing this even reach four figures? Probably not. Ludicrous.

Think the club did right to test the water though, even on here it's almost 50/50 and for little cost saving it would have affected a lot of fans by the sound of it ...

I'd like to hear the survey results from the club, for reference.

    We shall see

I'd like to see the actual cost from the club for reference. So far we have had one club reckon £100 for the whole match, another £300 an hour.

Both figures are utterly negligible and not even worthy of a discussion.

This is a professional football club with 17,000 through the gates each week.

This is the type of discussion Thackley or Eccleshill would be having, not Bradford City.

the problem is the two figures are at least 10 times each other so who knows what the figure is. At the moment we are discussing it without knowing if it is hundreds or thousands £ a match

I suppose it depends if anyone is manipulating the figures or not. Is this just purely for the floodlights or the total energy for a matchday?

For instance, the lighting and heating would still be on in the lounges, changing rooms and offices regardless so the figures clearly should exclude this.

that is the thing, both those figures are what different clubs have said about the floodlights.

if we are talking general bills I saw one club say theirs was over £1m. Coventry Rugby Union have said their total bill will increase by over £125,000. So a lot of different figures knocking about so if the club don’t put anything out it is just Guess work
