    They are flying back down at the minute. Lots most the key players on the pitch and in the backroom. Portsmouth tried bringing in their head of recruitment, so the FGR owner matched the inflated offer for him to stay, and now has to work a lot of magic.

    Most the better players left on free transfers too, so not a lot was raise form their title winning team moving on. Sounds like one or two more are on the verge of leaving.

    1998–99 season Peter Beagrie one side Jammie Lawrence on the other, Lee Mills with 25 goals Robbie Blake with 16, what a squad that was.

    True. But January in itself is a hard month to bring quality players in. Cook isn’t a terrible striker, id say he’s in the top 20% of League Two strikers this season. It wouldn’t be easy to find someone who is of a similar quality. On top of that, we’d have to deal with January prices, which may not fit our budget

    Sure I seen somewhere that he was in talks with Huddersfield? Not to sure if anything happened there also don’t get the hype 5 goals last season and I watched the play offs and didn’t stand out much other than the fact he’s 6ft 9

    Good luck to the lad. He’s not let us down, however a step up for ourselves was needed.

    Out of the Colchester away debacle , he was one of the only ones who came out of it with credit.

    They weren't far off League standard last season, way better than shifting players to BPA and super local teams.
