Not bothered who it is so long as he puts out a team trying to win rather than one trying not to lose. If we get that and 100% effort I’m happy. Results are secondary.

I can't claim to know too much else about him but you have to admire the job that Pete Wild has done at Halifax to have them competing with the clubs they are at the top of the National League. But it's a poor state of affairs when you wouldn't blame him for sticking with Halifax over us.

 

I know they are a but meaningless but some names that stand out for me - McCann, Warnock, Wild or even Ferguson. I'd say Fowler too but he seems to be linked everywhere but never gets appointed, not sure the reason for that.

 

Well that's a grim list.

Trueman has already had a shot at it, Robbie Fowler = LOL, James Rowe is a definite no, can't see Warnock or Woodgate being interested, and Steve Evans can do one.

Grant McCann makes the most sense, Pete Wild second although there are hints that he struggles with pressure so is unlikely IMHO, Michael Flynn plays 3 at the back which I just can't see working at all with our squad, honestly out of those...

It's probably McCann for me - if Ryan got a good review from his best buddy MacAnthony, that would make it even more likely.

 

It's in the bookies interest to name non-candidates because every pound that gets bet on them is guaranteed money in the bank.

People bet on any old nonsense, and many wrongly think the likely outcome is informed by the odds, so will be attracted even more once they're named.

Fowler is clearly a nonsense candidate with 0.01 % chance of getting appointed.

No point whatsoever, Warnock has said he wants one more job until the end of the season and that's that.

He retires in June come Hell or highwater.
