Why, oh why, do some fans fixate on Leeds? We are in absolute mess and all you can do is to try and make it better by revelling in (just) another team not winning. I am sure that when Leeds fans left the ground yesterday, they weren't thinking about City getting dumped down to the toilet league. Time to grow up. We will never again be in their echelons. Whether it happens this season or next, Leeds will be top tier and we will be bottom tier.

Why are you having a tantrum about what another person thinks about Leeds? In what way does that affect you? I'd suggest you are the one that needs to grow up.

Completely disagree. All of our relegations in my time watching City (01 from PL, 04 from Champ, 07 from L1) have been pathetic capitulations, with the writing on the wall long before the season's end. We haven't once put up a good fight in the years we've gone down in recent times and this year has been no different.

Best ever season I've had watching city was when we were in league 2 .
    It is what it is.
I've accepted it and I'm going to embrace it role on next season .

Bronco, it is simple really. My Dad took me to VP in 1972 and my Mum first took me to Headingley the following year. I played for Leeds Colts (that ages me doesn't it?). I have stayed true to my original clubs, when at times it would have been easier to go to SodAll Stadium (in the early years of Super League) or Bell End Road. I make no apology. End of.

It means to me lost interest in our club, not by me but the wider general public of Bradford.

We may have sold 13 thousand season tickets for div 4 football but if we don't get up Quickly,13 becomes 10 and the downward spiral takes us back to the bad old days of bradford city staying in the lower leagues and the next generation of fans becoming Man U,Liverpool or dare i say it L**ds supporters.

It is another hit in the decay of sport in bradford which also saddens me,for a city our size we should be doing miles better in terms of where we are now.

I know you've told us once before an interesting story I'm just pointing out that you are referring to a Leeds team in your user name yet you call it a fixation in my reply to @vladimir@vladimir, why would you have a problem with a bit of banter between ourselves.

Oh yes "end of" always a winning last comment.

Good post, will go right over the heads of many.

I am one of the 6000 (?) lost fans, I've always said l am OK as long as we are not in L2, but here we are again, it's scandalous, l am just not interested, l have better options on a Saturday and l expected relegation after 6 games anyway so was well prepared.. .

How so many posters can find positives watching a crap Bradford City slide into the basement league again, with fresh memories of the struggle to escape it, is totally beyond me. I have had a bellyful of watching an underachieving club, wake me up when it gets promoted, nothing to be proud of...

I have more interest in Farsley v Marine at the moment.

We've all seen it all before EB. That doesn't mean we should accept it
In the interests of Bradford City we need more people like this who are prepared to fck it off for a season or 2. JR and co have it easy knowing there's 10 thousand suckers lapping it up year in year out.

It is what it is. I don't have to like it, but I do accept it -- after all, I wouldn't ask the club to refuse a promotion when they've earned it... We've no God-given right to unbroken success, and it would be rather naive or arrogant to expect or demand that.

What makes this relegation so maddening though is that it is completely self-inflicted, and so unnecessary. To go from what we had to this in two years took a special kind of genius... whether little more than a conman or just a deluded enthusiast promoted well above his level of incompetence I can't decide. I'd like to think we can bounce straight back up, but my head says it will take a few years to undo the damage.

We are indeed a third-tier side, historically speaking, then a second-tier one, and only then a fourth-tier one -- if we come back up within three seasons we'll still have played more matches in the second tier than the fourth -- though I'd agree with those who suggest we should be a comfortable second-tier side, with the odd forays up or down. We were so close to the chance to become just that...

You say you are not interested, yet come on here at Midnight on a Saturday night to spout yet again how you wont be watching league 2 again, yet watch 5th, 6th and 7th tier football.
Think weve got the message Abbomf, so enjoy your non league tour next season.

We have some strange fans. I do get fans are angry at the self inflicted madness of this relegation, likewise. However, the call for fans to abandon the club and not buy season tickets, and if they do they are part of the problem as they are accepting mediocracy. Of course if fans don’t want to buy season tickets for a variety of reasons, that is their choice, and it would be madness to try and work out why that is. Likewise I am not going to justify why I bought my season ticket, nor do I accept mediocracy. I want progress, and sometimes you have to take a step back to make progress.

Do I have a limit to my support? yes I do, if we get relegated to the non league I would find it very hard to turn up. However, I doubt the club would exist if that happened. So I suppose everyone has a cut off point.

This has been a long time coming. Last game heartbreak would have been loads harder to take. It's the hope that kills you and bar a brief decent run at Christmas the whole season has been hopeless.

Really can't wait for the season to be over. Can't make Wimbledon and seriously considering sacking off tomorrow and doing someone more enjoyable on my bank holiday!

But I'll be back next year, one shit year isn't gonna make me give a 30 year habit! You take the good times with the bad.

The sad fact about being relegated to league 2 is that for most of my time watching BCFC it has been in the lower leagues div 3 and mainly 4, but those were the days you went to a match to enjoy it, not to bother about relegation or promotion, you just went to watch football, I agree that this season has been dire, but to be honest I'm quite looking forward to next season, some of my best football watching years were in the 4th division (Parky years besides) Let's just hope we get a team of lads that want to play for us and will fight for the privilege of wearing a Bradford City shirt

We once were ! 1997 to be precise City heading toward the Premier League ! Dulls Rugby Super League giants if not World Champs !? and Dukes Elite League Speedway Champions and Bradford the centre for World Speedway on its finest track ! ...now all in ruins ! and sport just not on the agenda for a wrecked City that won't ever get off it's fat useless backside!
