Derbyshire scoring that late equiliser would have certainly given our lads a lift and possibly worked the other way for Carlisle, as you say they had more or less controlled the game, we don't know we can only express our thoughts on what might have happened once that goal levels thd score, unfortunately Hughes preferred to change things straight away, for me it was the wrong call and was a very negative substitution.

He made negative substitutions all season and who is brave enough to say he won't this season this one only "stands out " more due to the importance of the game We were buzzing after the goal and it knocked us completely flat it further unsettled an already shaky defence, robbed the strikers any remote chance of getting any service gave Carlisle the inspiration\ freedom to press us even harder we were sitting ducks as it proved
Carlisle weren't great on the day nor in the final but at least there manager had a go, and went for it and reaped the rewards
In a nutshell this was story of our season
Hopefully lessons for next season have been learnt (somehow I doubt it)

Usually fully agree with your posts @Idlebantam@Idlebantam
But no this latest disappointment should not be "let go"
It should be in our managers mind every minute of every game this season
Why we are still in the khazi league

The point I was trying to make is that we've had our inquests last month. Time to move on and look forward to next season now.

Hopefully MH will use the experience of his first full season at this level and be able to analyse the things he got wrong and maybe things he could have got better and improve us next season.

I've moved on from the pain of the playoffs now personally though

Me too. If you want to avoid the lottery of play offs, then make sure you do the business the rest of the season. Now we have a shiny new season to look forward too.

And some of our own supporters moan about an element of our fans. We might have a few boisterous young ‘uns but at least we aren’t a bunch of racists

Hopefully they’ll get a hefty punishment. Their supporters were proper dicks in the away leg

We have racist fans just like any other club Steve. And lets face it we've all been at games where both sets of fans act like dicks, its a fine line between a great atmosphere and what some deem as dickhead behaviour. An example being the Leeds game in the cup at VP. One of the best atmospheres i've ever witnessed at Valley Parade.

They were good i'll admit but the Leeds one had proper animosity. Nothing beats getting one over on the 'champions of Europe' from Beeston.

Sorry Steve can't agree with that, as @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart says we have our fair share of idiots should the likes of you and your lad, me Al and 99% of other decent fans get penalised because of the few.

Yeah, my reply wasn't a dig at Steve in any way, if anything it's a society problem as opposed to a football problem. But then what I see as acceptable in very day life might not be what someone else sees as acceptable, for instance I wouldn't set off a smoke bomb in a public place but others see for to do so. And same with how people react at football, some of the behaviour I see from grown adults makes me cringe and that's from our own fans.

our fans broke down the segregation, spat on stewards and our own fans. We've got 1 fan currently banned for racism so lets not pretend our fans are angels https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-60476884

For sheer joy of smashing our noisy neighbours it cannot be bettered. I was as high as a kite for at least a week. Arsenal in the cup was a very special night. Blackpool away was magic, then Wolves away

Wolves was the pinnacle of a lifetime’s support of the club I will never surpass that feeling after the whistle blew on that match

As per my point - we aren't a bunch of racists. The actions of a single 54 year old piss head 18 months ago does not compare to a whole stand chanting "you're just a town full of pakis" as the Carlisle fans were, does it? And before anyone takes the moral high ground - my step mum is a British Asian of Pakistani descent so don't even think about that one

I think Bradford City fans - given our demographic and multiculturism - are one of the least racist in the entire country. Personally I have NEVER heard a single racist remark in the entire time following us, over 30 years, including most away games

@Birky Bantam@Birky Bantam did all that really happen or are you exaggerating?? I was stood about 3/4 up, and I didn't witness any of that...or maybe I was ignorant to it as I was too angry with the teams performance...

I think, on the whole, Bradford is one of the least racist cities in the UK. We should embrace our multiculturalism, its what makes us what we are.

Which bits didn't you witness? The segrattions gates were knocked through just before all of the police rushed into the concourse at 90 minutes full time. Then when fans were forced back into the stands someone from one of the seats at the top of the tunnel area to the stand spat down on a steward and towards our fans were at the top of the steps.
