Seem to remember Cook being on the bench and coming on injured - he could hardly move!!

This season with 5 subs will give far more minutes to more players. I'm pretty sure MH will have already had thoughts on starting and finishing elevens

Cook looks really fit again and up for the press. MH will keep him in the mix.

A bit like Eddie Jones' England rugby philosophy. We don't have subs, we have starters and finishers. And I think we really do. Imagine opposition defences thinking after an hour they have weathered the storm, only to have 2 or 3 quality attackers come on with fresh legs.....bring it on :grinning:

Good analysis IMHO ahar964. Extra 2 subs will make a huge tactical difference. MH has recruited specifically with this in mind I think

I think we’l see Angol playing on the left of the 3,behind the main striker, a lot. Will give us the ability to switch to 2 up top for periods during the game. Can also see Harratt being deployed on the left but for a different reason as he likes to cut in from wide an play off the last defender. With that in mind, it would make sense for us to retain Cook an allow him to primarily compete with Oliver for the position up top. I see those two as the main players to lead the line. They have the height an the physicality to get it done

Angol led the line well towards the back end of last season. He’s a much more intelligent player than Cook. I think we’ll see Cook getting 30 minutes most matches due to his lack of pace, which appears to be how Hughes has recruited his attacking players.

Cook looks a different player physically this season, I would suggest he won't be as slow as you remember

We've to get rid of some players. I would have thought Cook is open to offers but that doesn't mean he will go.

However, if a team comes in for him then I think we will gladly get rid.

I do have a slight concern about Harratt. He definitely has something about him and from what I have seen he could be a regular starter. But, if he isn't getting enough game time, are Huddersfield entitled to recall him in January and send him out somewhere else? Probably worrying unduly because I expect him to be a stand out player this season....then again if he is playing well they might recall him for themselves.

Then it is up to Harrat to make sure his game ensures he keeps the shirt. If he returns, I am sure we will have some warning.

Osadebe will probably start on the right as he did at York

Just my opinion (Oliver aside as I’ve not seen him), Harratt has to be the first name on the sheet when it comes to the top three. Every time I see him I’m more and more impressed.
Quick, direct, aggressive, good link up play, instinct in front of goal, loves being on the pitch. Just got everything I’d want from a forward.

I have to agree not merely is he looking good and scoring in friendlies he also sounds full of confidence, which isn't a bad thing for a kid of 20 then again he is from Ponte they always have plenty to say.

Interesting to see Staunton come on in midfield over Songo'o who slipped into CB in their raft of changes, Hughes really doesn't fancy Songo'o in midfield again does he? Wonder if he might fancy one more in that area, maybe a young loan? Osadebe looks far more comfortable and a threat playing out wide than he does in the middle, wouldn't fancy seeing him in their unless we had no other option. But the season starts in 10 days and we've only got Smallwood, East and Scales who are comfortable CMs that are fit and have kicked a ball since May, with 2 of those barely having a run as a professional as of yet.

Sounds like Eisa is out for a couple of months (shock), but we've also not yet seen or barely seen since the BPA game Hendrie, Ridehalgh, Sutton, Gilliead & Chapman due to what were described as little knocks 3 weeks back.

Eisa must be devastated right now. It looks like he’s going to have to sit out the start of the season again. Looking at our wing options we certainly need another 1 in because we can’t rely on Gilliead and that only leaves Chapman (I think) as the only out and out winger we have.

Osadebe played well down the right last night. Most of our threat in the first half was Osadebe and Halliday linking up.

Osadebe is a winger and looked very confident and at it last night to be honest. But yeah it's looking thin at the moment, i'm 95% set on Dion not coming back, but there will be others out there.
