Think one more CB will come in, after either Staunton leaves on loan which is much needed for City and Reece, or Kelleher gets taken. He'll stick with his two right backs unless Threlkeld leaves, but i'd imagine he might well be on a fair wage for this level, if someone wants him i wouldn't be surprised if we have to take a cut of his wages. Right back is still a position we need an upgrade, but probably wont want 3 of a good age and wage along with FCD on the books.

Strikers will be done unless Cook leaves but i cant imagine we will actively push him. I still think we need a CM with some legs. Smallwood is more a deep/sitting player. Songo'o will be there to cover DM/CB, East was described as a deep playmaker which leaves us Sutton as the only CM with some legs. Gilly or Osadebe can cover there if need be so he might leave it, or look for a young loanee midfielder to plug that gap rather than playing a winger in the middle.

 

They've done OK tbf. The Aberdeen lad looks interesting. A couple of players who have league one experience. Problem is most have played for Evans before so next to no wider scouting going on and I can't imagine them being much more than mid-table. Like everyone else, need forwards.

 

Ryan Edmondson signed for Carlisle, interesting one as I know a few have mentioned him on here before. Carlisle seem to get a tune out of strays so could be a good move for him.

Wouldn’t have had him here mind, if we bring in another forward I think we’d have to sell Cook first and we’d need someone more tried and tested as we have a few youngsters already.

 

Purely from what I have heard, Harratt seems a more exciting prospect. Shame we only have him on loan

 

Yes I think he is the player who will catch the eye this season along with Dion if Luton allow him to leave

 

Would be nice to see a few outgoings now. Kelleher and Threlkeld on perm deals. FCD and Staunton loans to national league north or league 2 if possible

 

I think Hughes will use the first couple of weeks of pre season to evaluate now. I’d like to see Threlkheld leave even if on a loan.

RB, CB and maybe another player upfront.

Vadaine Oliver anyone?

 

Tranmere fans seem to think Oliver is on trial with them. Think he'll stick with this strikeforce unless Cook leaves, given we are filming promo material with Cook, i cant see that being given the green light if either he wants to leave or we want him out.

RB and CB needed, Hendrie might do a job, but theres many better at this level. Needs Threlkeld out but he is on a fair whack for this level by all accounts, might have to bite the bullet and pay some of that wage if anyone wants him. Reckon Staunton to a Halifax type on loan will happen.

 

I think Stevenage will be up there. Impressed with the signings.
Top 7 in my opinion.

Not sure. Think it's the classic Evans fishing in the same pond he always does although my neighbours say that all the signings look "solid". Depends if they can find a goalscorer I think.

 

Danny Rose?. He had his most productive spell under Evans at Mansfield, he will probably do well for him again at Stevenage.

 

Could do. Has Evans had his day though? I mean, he kept them up but can he take them on?

I'd much prefer to be in our camp than theirs!

 

The Keeper Chapman is excellent. Evans got a good tune out of Rose at Mansfield.
To say he's such a horrible individual, the players follow him. He must be doing something right.

 

Evans will know how to gain points from games he has no right to get anything from at this level. Cant see their success with his back two of Bostwick and Piergianni, fouls will be off the charts. Both them two looked naff last season, probably the slowest CB partnership in the EFL, a striker who had one good run under Evans before. Brought in a full back in Clark who was supposed to be decent but hasn't had a good season in 5 years, after bad spells at Fleetwood and Rochdale.

Chapman is a very good keeper to be fair, with List there they have a very good outlet. They'll do better but not sure top 7.

 

Anyone who plays them with pace will have a good chance.

With the two centre backs they have they are set up for the deep-set, long-ball, backs to the wall, hoofball league two standard fayre!
