I don't care how he finances new players as you suggest through a loan or otherwise, I'm sure he's aware that it wont be coming out of his own pocket, with regards costs going up that also applies to house holds, that has to be financed by the club maybe through better sponsorship once again being a successful club would help, how do house hold get by with fixed incomes they cut their cloth to suit, yes your correct mince beef has gone up over the years the wife just gives me smaller portions.

Some have quoted increasing ticket prices to £200 + that is over a 25% rise on last years prices, would you pass on a 25%+ rise on your product to your customer ?

Yes because the 150 isn't the natural going rate. It's far too cheap and City fans have had it too good for a long time.

    25% increase is nothing really.

What I would say though is the Match Day off fee should be lowered to about £15. £20 is too much.

I'm not against an increase, as you say I'm just not sure next season is the best time to do it, we missed a great opportunity after our Wembley appearance against Millwall but then hindsight is a wonderful thing.
The old adage wasn't apt during Parky's time here or the first season under Stuart's returned, its only been an issue since the club went tits up, and I understand that, but lets see a few quality signings if the club are serious about T&S taking us to the next level then fans might "really believe" as were asked by the club.

The finance we raised from cheap season tickets should have still made us competitive on the pitch, clubs have and will be successful with less, at the end of the day it's down to how you spend your playing budget along with how your squad is coached/managed.
Having said that it's probably time to increase the prices and I'm with you in that I'd certainly be prepared to pay 50% more (as a starting point).
It's interesting that the lad that is still wet behind the ears (allegedly), Ryan Sparks, feels that the cheap season tickets scheme has run it's course and although he wants football at Valley Parade to be affordable he also wants us to challenge for silverware.

We've had it too good for too long we've paid what the club requested us to pay, 25% is nothing don't talk daft.
Are you saying the on the day match price of £25 is too much and should be lowered to £15.

So let me get this right a fan who wants to purchase a season ticket should have it increased yet a fan who attends when they can should have a 25% reduction, and your a successful businessman, you'd increase you prices for your loyal regular customers and give someone who frequents your business occasionally a discount, really ?.

I agree with you there Fordy. Yes increase the cost of season tickets but reduce match day prices to £15, £20 is too much if we want to get fans in who maybe can't get down on a regular basis due to work or being someone's carer etc.
Then we just need the right guys coaching the team.

Quite happy to pay £200 per season in League 2 and then £250 for league 1 and £300-£325 for Championship.

Easily affordable if they do 6 or 12 month payment plans.

Cheap tickets were introduced a good few years ago and the players wages have likely continually risen since then meaning the actual value of the ST cost has lowered as you get less for your money.

If we are to bring a new era to the club we now need to start acting a little different and ticket prices should be the first thing we address. Success never comes cheap.

I would not need to increase by such a one off percentage , i increase my prices every January by inflation +, as do most of my suppliers. My employees also get pay rises at inflation. Its how the world works. If i had not increased prices like this, i would not have a business, we would have been bankrupt years ago.
Bradford city as a business have been consuming these extra costs on our behalf for years.
£8.69 per game £200 per season is a bargain, £150 is amazing , but it is time to start increasing the cost.
By the way a 25% increase on £150 is £37.50 so tickets would be £187.50

Agree except you were not underselling your products as cheaply as City are. You would not have been in business long if you effectively sold your product at a loss or break even at best

As Bronco said the time to put them up should have been when we were on the crest of a wave, fans will more than happily stump up more for a successful product. Yet if anything we dropped the price to £149 when most fans at the time were calling for it to be raised to around the £200 mark. And we've become obsessed as a club with this £149 ever since, evry marketing campaign has been around how cheap the tickets are when it would be much better to market the fact that for £200 you are getting a game equivalent of £8.69 a ticket.

I like the idea of affordable football but theres affordable and theres giving your product away. And you only give your product away when the product is that poor that no one buys it. Its the whole reason the prices were dropped to these levels by Rhodes all those years back, not because he wanted to be some moral white knight letting the poor watch live football, it was the product on the pitch was that shite he couldn't shift tickets. A last throw of the dice if you like. And its a mindset that follows us round like a faithful lapdog.

Irrespective of the price there are other factors the club need to consider. Many people are disenchanted with the product on the pitch. Others are disenchanted with football in general. Some will have realised there are other things to do beside football on a Saturday and may have found they prefer them. Some might now prefer staying at home and watching the match on the tele without the hassle of getting to an uninviting stadium. Some may no longer be able to afford a season ticket. I suspect quite a few will be very undecided and will need a substantial statement of intent to tempt them to renew, even at the current price. I agree with Bronco, it would be a considerable risk to increase the price at this particular time.

My response was to the ridiculous idea that businesses who have done well during Covid could subsidise the cost of a season ticket for those who were furloughed.
I’m sick of people expecting charity.
If someone can’t afford a season ticket then they can’t have one, simple as that. It doesn’t even need debating.

I reckon the adult prices will be £199.00 and OAP prices remain at £149.00

Thought I read somewhere the club was going to reduce the players budget from £2.4 million to around £1.5 million so that will help keep prices keen

Yes and we have had cheap tickets that attracted 18,000 in there hay day, it was the club that made these calls with regards the price, possibly with the theory that 18,000 bums on seats paying £150 and buying food, drink, programs and other merchandise is better than 12,00 paying more whatever the figure.

I'm quite aware Bradford City are a business and have year on year increases in gas electric and other consumables to pay for, so whats your take why they never increased tickets prices year on year to cover these increased costs, our new CEO tells us he wants to sustain low ticket pricing as he prefers a stadium of 24,00 being 3/4 full is better than a stadium 1/3rd full, I'll repeat I'm not against the club increasing season ticket prices IMO next season is not the right time to start, but if they do I'll be there along with my grandson purchasing two.

With regards you reply about a 25% increase would be £187.50 I was quoting a poster who said increase it to £200 so my figures were based on £200 which is 25% give or take.

Unfortunately I'm not in his position, but as fordy has said many times you don't by a football club to make money and certainly not a league one or two club, so if he wants the club to be a success and and get a return on his original investment when and if he sells I;d say yes he needs to prove to us fans he is prepared to finance the club be it with loan money or his own personal wealth.
