I don't think anyone expects fillet of steak, under Parky and up to Stuart getting the sack after Wembley during his second spell at the club we weren't doing too bad on cheap tickets, there is also no guarantee that paying fillet steak prices you get fillet steak performances on the pitch, looks like the retaining of T&S is not the only tough call Ryan has to make.

I have actually lost money. As a director of my firm , i did not draw any dividends for over two months last year during the lockdown. i am reasonably well off and would not expect , someone who had eaned all their salary during lock down, but not as financially viable as me, to subsidise my ticket. its a non starter. a slight increase for all , is the way to go. Even at £200 its only £8.69 per match or £3.84 per week over the year.

Of course there is no guarantee, that an increase in ticket price will improve performances.
We at least have to give it a try. With inflation alone , the value of that £150 to the club , is much less today than when we first started the scheme. Tickets would probably have been about £200 , if they had risen by inflation rates over that period and don't forget the £150 includes VAT

Fair enough, but anyone who goes to the pub knows all landlords have been hit hard, all the staff.

    Don't wanna help them?

I am not a big drinker. I eat out on a regular basis, with my wife and friends and can not wait to get back. We will probably do it more often, once the government allow. By the way , l have paid all my taxes due right through the pandemic, both personally and through company tax , so i am helping them. No government has any money, they just spend ours.

A price rise accompanied by an announcement that T&S will be our managers next year could be interesting.

Well the lucky ones will buy a more expensive season ticket and the unlucky ones won’t, that’s life I’m afraid. Businesses can’t set price points to cater for everyone otherwise a Porsche would be the same price as a Skoda.

My next door neighbour has solar panels on his roof. Do you think he might subsidise my electricity costs because I’m hard up ?

Not if you look at the bigger picture rather than wander around with a rain cloud over your head.
What you aren't getting is there are probably a good 60% of people, maybe more, who are better off because of the non spending during the pandemic and this football club has shown that it wont progress by working off the lowest common denominator

Exactly, even the lowest earners who haven’t lost their job or been furloughed with have saved money over the last year simply because we haven’t been able to spend anything on leisure activities .

The improvement on the pitch with the purchase of better players should come from the owner, Rahic might have fooled him for a couple of years but he must realise by now that to get the right product on the pitch is down to him, of course an increase will be required as we progress but I think any rise next season would not help, maybe the early signing of a few quality players might to show how ambitious we are as a club would be a good start.

That's got to be the dumbest comparison I've read lately, the suggestion is it would not be the brightest thing to do raising ticket prices after the last 12/14 months we have all had both football wise and covid in our lives, no ones mentioned of wanting it for free because were hard up, I'll pay £150 if that's what the club deem as value and if they say its £200/£250 I'll also pay that.

It does not work quite like that, most business that plan improvements , of what ever type , will pay for it through a loan , rather than their own pocket and the cost covered by increasing the price of there product. Also material cost are constantly increasing. You can not always cover those costs and have to pass them on , through the cost to your clients.
Football is no different apart from the emmotional ties. Surely the price of minced beef has risen in the past 10 years.

The old adage you get what you pay for has never been more apt. When paying £149 for a season ticket don't be too surprised if the product on the field isn't all that. I keep hearing this word sustainable. Well for that to happen the fans need to dig into their pockets. I agree with Bronco that next season might be the wrong time but we have to start off somewhere.
