Bowyer signs two year contract

Riley and Patrick for me first. I sadly can't see O'Connor being moved on now, maybe Bowyer thinks he can get a tune out of him. I hope Doyle stays but if he doesn't and it allows us to bring some younger talent like Stevens then so be it. A pacy left winger must still be near the top of the agenda...

 

The more we hear from Bowyer, the greater his profile gets.

TBH so far he has far than surpassed my expectations, and I was confident in him from the beginning. He all round attitude and communication has very much endeared himself to us as supporters. He’s cleverly identified what we as a club expect and want to see and seems to so far he getting things right. Naturally, performances and results on the pitch will be the overall measure, however there no doubting that he has returned a positive atmosphere to this club. I never expected it to turn around so quickly, so hope all he gets the backing he deserves from game one of the campaign and lets see where it gets us......

 

Keeping things in perspective, he's not achieved anything yet but by god, he's going about things the right way in terms of bringing the 'feel good' factor back.

 

Agree. You could also say he’s been shrewd (and honest) by saying the squad isn’t right. Therefore if we don’t start the way we all naturally hope we do, he’ll remind us we’re not 100% where he wants us to be. I have zero issue with this, he’s simply managing expectations.

Today will be a great occasion for so many reasons. From a club prospective it’s a great starting block for the season ahead and I hope all the feel good factor from today will carry into game one.
