I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. They’ve got this summer to build bridges and put their money where their mouth is. Back the manager whoever he is, stop lying to the supporters and make sure Edin takes a back seat and stops playing director of football. Do that and the rest of what’s already planned and some of us might start coming back.

Stefan says no intention of running away at first sign of lack of success. Here for stability, here for long term.

Reiterated plan to bring young players to the first first team.

We win as a team and lose as a team.
This year not as successful as they planned but their responsibility, his and Edin’s apologies and stick with us, will do their best and feel they have learned their lesson, will do thins better.

More pessimistic guff from either WOAP or Sutcliffe. Why on earth we should be worried about Sunderland having say a £20m wage budget, when we've just had both Wigan and Blackburn with ones way outside what us or any of the other 22 teams could afford is beyond me

If our budget is within 10/20% of the say the 4th biggest, then the manager can make a difference

I said a while ago, the board could give a £100m and still few would cheer up

We had a bad season and still could be in a single figure position. Not long ago in the division below, that was the best we did in five seasons

It's time some perspective was given. How about the worst injury season I can remember and how if we'd had only half the number, maybe we'd had made it. But no, that's way too 'happy clappy'

I’m not in the ‘anti board’ brigade and up to a couple of months ago I was trying (as you are now) to come across with a positive message. BUT! something has gone terribly wrong, it’s not injuries or loss of form, but something has upset the dynamics of club - even you’ve got to admit that. Problem is that unless it’s rectified sharpish then it’s going to keep eating away and carrying on into next season.

Good post Bantamsteve, its a big few days coming up for the club and we can only hope some wise decisions are reached
Banbrotam - cant believe you see Sutcliffes YP article as 'pessimistic guff', need to get your head out of the sand mate. Yes we have been through worse times but so much of the negatives this season could so easily have been avoided and many of the negatives have been self inflicted. It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom going forward but this club, and more importantly the fans, need a lift. If you cannot feel the negative vibe around the club at present I find that really troubling, it is genuine and there for all to see.

Thats not how it works in the real world of football is it? Fans want success, fans want entertainment. Fans opinion may differ on what entertainment is but I'll tell you this, if it ain't entertaining fans will vote with their feet like they did last night. If Rupp and Rahic come and ask for patience like you ask i'm guessing the replies might be unprintable. The get out of jail free excuse of steady progress has gone. They need to lay down a marker in the summer, make a statement of intent and back it up. Get the manager situation sorted out, i don't care who it is, Grayson, Rosler, old man Withers, i'm not bothered because we can at least start to plan for next season.

Didn't their initiall statement include if we are in a position of getting promoted in January we will back the manager. Did he mean his bank manager?

Can't see any of that happening to be honest Edin believes his vision will succeed whether we like it or not. Only hope that if it fails the clubs not beyond repair. An excellent article in the Yorkshire post telling it as it is No one can deny the "walk of shame" was witnessed by very few a stark contrast to last season. 6000 people not renewing their season ticket at probably the cheapest price in the league is testimony in itself. Where we go from here remains to be seen I for one am apprehensive to say the least.

Don't necessarily disagree. Apart from "terribly wrong".

What happened is that we got a few injuries in the last positions we could afford, which led to results deteriorating, confidence dropping and then team spirit dropped due to an 'incident'

Hardly anything, that a club can't come back from. Let's just shrug our shoulders, admit it was a season where everything went wrong (Chicksens horrible early season injury, the bizzare mis management of Reeves's groin, a great centre half arrives and then also gets a season ending injury) and that we've all had spells when we can't by a break

Next season everyone starts again. The slates wiped clean. Some fans on these board's seem to be in a permanent state of trauma and then wonder why some of the players wander around like that as well

Yes. A terribly frustrating season, but these claims aluding to there been something badly wrong, that we're doomed to a relegation, would be laughable if I didn't feel sorry for those who are in such despair after 'only a top half finish. How we do next season will depend on the number of characters we have on the pitch and how well the manager manages.

As I've said many times, go back to our 2007 to 2012 L2 days and that's real despair

Or at least lets judge once we've got a manager and the starting 11 to actually pick on

You see that's the sort of comment I find hard to believe from someone who has supported the club and been through what we have in the past, Richmond had a vision and it nearly cost us our club but because he wanted to go down the road of buying Internationals and proven Premiership players rather than keeping that great work ethic and togetherness of the previous season ETC we nearly lost our club, I just can't follow your logic.

    POTY do...

Opening highlights video skipped from the first half
Of the season to pre Wembley last year highlights - so that’s good.

And in big news - mark lawn is here on the Mitton group table. This could be excellent

Interesting comment, would like to know how, couldn't he refuse to sell?

Also makes his comments about them been the right people to take us forward even stranger if that's how he felt.

P.s thanks for the updates, they're appreciated.

Agree 100% Simon. Many long term fans have voted with their feet not just the so called plastics and that in itself speaks volumes. A lot of fans myself included see it as the only way the message will get through to the owners. We’ve regressed as a club and that is solely down to the way the club is being run. Will be an interesting few days and depending on what happens a potentially worrying summer.

What’s in the wallet is allegedly £300M! No ones asking them to spend all their wealth, but it’s their project and they claim to want promotion! So just enough to have a really competitive budget! They won’t start making anything until we get promoted from L1. Speculate to accumulate!
