Richard Sutcliffe in the todays Yorkshire Post writes a very good summery of where we are as a club and the highs and lows of this season with comments like :
The next few days will tell us more with Grayson due to sit down with joint chairman Edin Rahic either today or tomorrow, but supporters really could do with a lift in these troubled times.

Most of those hardly loyalists who did brave a cold night had also left before Grayson and his players embarked on the traditional end-of-season lap of appreciation that looked more like a walk of shame.

The Bantams, unlike those years in the Eighties and again under the stewardship of Parkinson/McCall, have regressed horribly over the past few months. Getting the club back on track in a division where money will talk even louder next season thanks to the arrival of Sunderland is not going to be easy.

Over to you Mess Rahic & Rupp

Thanks for that :) I've now read it in full, eye opening or condemning ?
I hope our Board read it too, before they have discussions with SG !!

I think a bit of both Chris, this says it all :
Swathes of empty seats greeted the Bantams players ahead of kick-off against Walsall as supporters once again voted with their feet over a campaign that has imploded horribly, as many have threatened to do on here, and also not renew their season tickets.

@Ricc@Ricc is taking a copy down to the POTY Awards tonight,

More pessimistic guff from either WOAP or Sutcliffe. Why on earth we should be worried about Sunderland having say a £20m wage budget, when we've just had both Wigan and Blackburn with ones way outside what us or any of the other 22 teams could afford is beyond me

If our budget is within 10/20% of the say the 4th biggest, then the manager can make a difference

I said a while ago, the board could give a £100m and still few would cheer up

We had a bad season and still could be in a single figure position. Not long ago in the division below, that was the best we did in five seasons

It's time some perspective was given. How about the worst injury season I can remember and how if we'd had only half the number, maybe we'd had made it. But no, that's way too 'happy clappy'

Let us hope that @Ricc@Ricc plays nicely, rather than a full on assault. To do otherwise could only add to any further reluctance from the Board. :) ............................ You listening, @Ricc@Ricc ;)

Just more doom and gloom click bate?
He seems to forget to mention the 'minor' footnote of the GR era between the 80s 'bantam progressivism' and the arrival of Parky starting the second era of 'bantam progressivism'.
Also he couldn't resist a little plug for his mates at The City Gent...

Obviously your perspective @banbrotam@banbrotam, of course your last paragraph is correct more reason to have given our sacked manager more time to work with the players brought in during January and maybe some of his injured players coming back from injury as you mentioned ?.

They certainly had words at the fans forum, don't actually know what was said but Edin's last words as @Ricc@Ricc walked away were Vergiss deine Weihnachtskarte ?.

It's not a forum so he would have to catch him when he could... but he won't.

Ricc: Is there any truth in the rumour that you are renaming the suites Edin?
Edin: Nein dick, ist foolish testicles.
Ricc: It's Ricc!.. Is there any truth in the rumour Mr Rupp has called us all racists.
Edin: Nein dick, ist total shumachers.
Ricc: it's RICC!!.. Are you going to give in to Simon Grayson's demands?
Edin: Nein dick, we are getting German coach and following mein dream to get to £1 premiership in 7 years.
Ricc: why do you insist on calling me dick?
    Edin: I read Bantam Talk.

Next season isn't looking good. We can't compete for wages given that fans simply do not support their regime.

I’m not in the ‘anti board’ brigade and up to a couple of months ago I was trying (as you are now) to come across with a positive message. BUT! something has gone terribly wrong, it’s not injuries or loss of form, but something has upset the dynamics of club - even you’ve got to admit that. Problem is that unless it’s rectified sharpish then it’s going to keep eating away and carrying on into next season.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. They’ve got this summer to build bridges and put their money where their mouth is. Back the manager whoever he is, stop lying to the supporters and make sure Edin takes a back seat and stops playing director of football. Do that and the rest of what’s already planned and some of us might start coming back.

Can't see any of that happening to be honest Edin believes his vision will succeed whether we like it or not. Only hope that if it fails the clubs not beyond repair. An excellent article in the Yorkshire post telling it as it is No one can deny the "walk of shame" was witnessed by very few a stark contrast to last season. 6000 people not renewing their season ticket at probably the cheapest price in the league is testimony in itself. Where we go from here remains to be seen I for one am apprehensive to say the least.

Some already are within this thread, they say Richard Sutcliffe just bad mouths us, rather strange how Simon Parker's articles are becoming more and more critical recently.

Good post Bantamsteve, its a big few days coming up for the club and we can only hope some wise decisions are reached
Banbrotam - cant believe you see Sutcliffes YP article as 'pessimistic guff', need to get your head out of the sand mate. Yes we have been through worse times but so much of the negatives this season could so easily have been avoided and many of the negatives have been self inflicted. It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom going forward but this club, and more importantly the fans, need a lift. If you cannot feel the negative vibe around the club at present I find that really troubling, it is genuine and there for all to see.
