To add, when Barnett went off on the right with Fletcher, City were not getting pushed back and were able to advance further up the pitch. The amount of work, Fletcher did both on and off the ball showed the sharpness of the player he is. That allowed Wrexham loads of gaps , down our sides. Once they went off, that press, harrying and space seemed to lessen. Honestly, PP got that double substitution so wrong.

@Wxm80@Wxm80 good player that Barnett, is he normally so good on the eye?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'pump in millions'. If you mean can an owner inject more capital into the club then some of that can be used to increase the playing budget in Div 2. All clubs can do that if the owners want to. Any other legitimate sponsorship deals, TV deals, film rights etc which go to the club can also be used in a similar way. They're just a different income stream for the club just like our ST income or commercial deals. If however the owner simply gave the club a loan or two then that cannot be used to increase the playing budget.

Whether that constitutes being able to 'buy the league' using your expression is debatable ;)

So if our owner decided to put in cash to cover the electricity bill and rent if the stadium that would be ok?

So the FFP rules are a nonsense then?
If an owner is rich enough and willing to ‘inject’ funds then they effectively could snap up all the best players without restriction to gain an advantage over all other clubs in the division.

Clearly he's just another one of the "I come in peace brigade" that visits our forums from time to time. True colours always eventually come to the fore.
Especially when the entitled little snap-Dragons have had their arses handed to them. Haha

Yes, that's how Salford have operated since they joined the FL.

However, the kicker for L2 clubs is that the SCMP rules don't apply in the NL so there is no need to limit football spending to 55% of income and in addition, you can use loans to finance the spending as well which again, is not something that's allowed in the FL. This is how so many NL clubs can outspend L2 clubs.

If my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle.
You've had three different days against us this season and failed to win any of them.
Lions share of possession was to be expected, that's why resolute defending was far superior to yours.
Unfortunately for Wrexham is that they don't a striker ( remember the one with the managers belly), that can produce a Cruyff turn, and whilst the whole of your defence are picking up lollipops, put it in the onion bag.
Smash and grab, a successful tactic employed by many a club.

Blinkered post if ever I saw one. Fletcher is too football-intelligent for the rest of the cloggers in your team, and Tozer is a one-trick pony with his ineffective & predictable long throw

Time to realise you cannot just expect to rock up & buy the league. You need a certain class to do that, and Wrexham don't have it. 2 wins & a draw against your lot this season, I honestly have no idea what all the hype is about

Wrexham fans have proved themselves to be a very salty bunch since Saturday, and I sincerely hope you fail to get promotion

I think going on other teams fans site is a bit weird at the best of times.

    You’re not 12 ffs.
If you then go on after you lose and whine like a small child that nothing went your way and the ref was poor blah blah blah you deserve all the stick you get.

Well said. He bounced onto our site full of patronising tips on how to beat them before the match. Now he is back full of angst and self entitlement on how we didn’t deserve to beat them despite the stats on shots on target being in our favour. Our defence was really good and our goalkeeper had less to do.

Not an unfair summary, but for all the money your owners have spent you have a very average squad. You should really be beating teams like Bradford but second half you showed very little. I'd worry your club seems to have a very short term policy regarding transfers, offering big wages to players at the end of their careers means even if you do go it would be a rebuild policy. Hey I've no dog in the fight, you're just another league 2 club to me but purely as a neutral a club paying the wages you do should be walking this division. You need to ask questions why you aren't?

I'd say our approach was cynical. I've seen many teams do it against us.

You have to remember this is their first year back in the league.Even with money it’s not easy to drop straight on it. If they go on to get promotion it will be an achievement. But like other clubs their fan’s expectations are off the scale.

We'd have preferred beating them playing total football but were realistic and see very little of that in league two, plus we've been on the recieving end of those sort of results.

Haven't we just, we hardly ever employ those tactics but sometimes, just sometimes although I don't like it, it can work for us ...

    It’s a fine line.

Don’t t want to turn in to a team like FGR a few seasons ago who took it to a new level.
But also don’t want to be the team that just rolls over and has their belly tickled.
