My late Dad, god bless him, first went in 1921, the season City got relegated from the first division.
He followed them through thin and thinner until watching them win at Wolves, with tears rolling down his face, to get back into the top tier again.
78 years, never give up on your team.

I’ve followed City for 35 years home and away - through thick and thin. I now do Quite a bit of sponsorship with Big match sponsorship - player sponsorship - Business club etc.
I will never stop supporting city and it’s not just about how good the team is and what league we are in. For me about the match day experiance either home or away.
I have already told the club that under the present regime I am not putting any more of my hard earned in next year - and that’s the first time in 15 years. I just feel dejected with it the way the club is run from the top.
I will still attend (when allowed) because it’s in my blood but season ticket and car park space only from now on.
Hopefully they prove me wrong and we turn this around but it’s going to take one almighty effort.YungNath, Fools Gold, How and 4 others like this. -

Never. You cannot divorce your football club.
As my dad used to say when I was a kid, you’ll love more than one woman in your lifetime but you’ll only ever love one football club. Never a truer word spoken.
I lived within 6 miles of Valley Parade for the first 25 years of my life. Went to my first game as a 5 year old. For the past 16 years I’ve lived 110 miles further north in Newcastle. Yet Valley Parade on match day will always be the place that I’d choose to be as much as I can.
I am married and have 4 kids. Have some lovely memories. But still some of the greatest days / nights of my life have been whilst following City. Blackpool away 96 play off and Wolves 99 are 2 such examples. Seeing us win 4-3 at Brentford in 1992 whilst we were sat in the home end another example. Pompey away 4-2 and Swindon 4-1 away on the promotion season 98-99. You cannot buy days out like that.
My youngest daughter being mascot a few years ago. Something she still talks fondly of. My little lad going to football training in his city kit whilst every other kid is wearing black and white. Playing myself at V.P in a schools cup final in the early 90’s. You don’t lose memories like that. All because of BCFC.

I've given up on the disinterested owner and the current managment structure. I've given up on the poor quality of players we have. I never give up hope that things will change and improve, which won't happen until we are under new ownership and management.

He more or less said the club knew this season we wouldn't challenge but why not be honest from the start but instead sponsors, fans have just wasted their money in these difficult times.

I’ll never give up on them. For all the Salford’s losing 0-3 and not even trying, There is Villa away and Chelsea away just around the corner. Those times will come back.

Stopped going before for a period. I always looked out for the club in those times but I just stopped enjoying it. We have an infinite time on this planet.
At this point in time, I wouldn't attend. The reason amongst, my football buddy my son has really lost the appetite. That's a shame.
Football has connection. -
It’s only football not life and death. We’ve been in lower leagues for many years. We have had some good times but probably more bad times.
This club needs stability and full team rebuilding. This takes time, love or hate McCall he is one of the clubs most loyal servants and only wants the best for this club. I would rather have that than some pretentious so called as been or mercenary who just wants a wage.
A supporter will follow through good and bad times. -

Moving to Greece in 2002 prevented me from going to watch City week in, week out, although I still followed the games from there kick by kick, via the internet and SKY and being in a foul mood for days whenever they lost.
On visits to the UK my wife and I always took in as many games as we could and even had season tickets, even though we knew that they would hardly be used (in fact we told the club that they could sell on our seats as long as we got a couple when we visited)
Over time we lost our appetite but still wanted the team to win of course, there will only ever be one club for us.
Now that we are back in the UK, we don't have that eagerness anymore and before lockdown, whenever we went to games it wasn't as exciting, we had lost that 'buzz'.
Now....(many will disagree) I refuse point blank to watch any game live (or until after kick-off on TV) whilst teams and officials are 'giving the knee' and will not return until this stops - enough is enough with all this BLM stuff and giving the Black Power Fist. I have had contact with Ryan Sparks about this also.
My first game as a youngster was in 1955 and I was hooked ever since. Time changes people and family becomes more important, however when fans are allowed back into stadiums we would like to return to VP again on the proviso above.Tony Wilkinson, Bantam Boy and Jayteebee like this. -

In the 62 years I have followed this team there have been many low moments. It’s those that make the few good times that much more special. The digital age now makes the bad times seem worse. But only old age will stop me making the fortnightly pilgrimage to VP when I am allowed

No, they’ll always be my team, I’d try to go and watch them at least once a season no matter what level they were at. The enthusiasm has ebbed a bit, but i think that is as much to do with covid and empty stadiums as anything else. Yes we are a very poor team to watch right now, but I’ll stick with them no matter how frustrating it is. I want us to move forward and have managed ambition in the long run and am not at all convinced by our current owners and set up. There feels to be a total disconnect between the owners and the club (the fans) from what I see, albeit as an exile and not as clued up on much of the mundane backroom type goings on as many fans are, or claim to be, on here.

Many of you have given up on Bradford City years ago but just don't admit it yourself hence why you accept the BS that comes out of the club.
The club bounces of the fact they can get away with the BS hence why it does the things it does.
Many are really just a fan like @Frank Castle says not a supporter. The club is dead! It doesn't need to find an identity now, it needs to come alive!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
