All are bothered about their investment and most have put their own team in.

Rupp is disinterested in us hence why we are in massive trouble as a club.

I think I have on several occasions over the years. When I was a kid I threw a few tantrums and declared I'm looking for a new club, but it never happened.
I mostly grew up outside of Bradford, so it's not like I was surrounded by loads of City fans either. However, because of that, supporting a sh!t team rather than being a glory hunting Liverpool or Man U fan, was something of a novelty. Now it's the same over here in Estonia, where nearly all the locals support Liverpool or United, and half of them haven't even heard of Bradford City. I think I'd get even more credit for supporting a non league team if we get relegated!

I didn't say anything about foreign I said distant because he is can't remember the last time we heard from him and with things the way they are that isn't a good thing to me.

Big difference between us and all those clubs Every single one of those teams has resources we can only dream of so they can afford to put peoplae place to run the club we can't so for us it doesn't work. Comparing us to any of those clubs is a bit if a leap.

You're right, Rupp shouldn't leave SIMPLY because he's a disinterested, distant owner.

He should leave because he's so disinterested and so distant that he is allowing the club to fail badly while refusing to invest in the product that he bought.

People invest in businesses they're not interested in all the time - but if you were actually going to take over a business you had no interest in, I'm absolutely certain you'd do everything in your power to make sure it was being run well and succeeding.

The only aspect of Bradford City that is succeeding is that Rupp is getting a little capital back as the club is turning a profit. However the days of those profits will be long gone if we're in the National League. Running the club as cheaply as possible in League Two is having a disastrous effect on the business' performance, to the point that the ONLY viable option is investment.

I understand your use of the term ‘distant’, which is a spatial and time concept but can also refer to mood and behaviour.

However, do many of the owners of the Premiership clubs say much? How many actually attend games on a regular basis, apart from UK based ones.

Even if you go down to the Championship, over half the clubs have foreign owners who are often distant geographically, absent from matches and publicly say little.

However at our level, then Rupp is a relatively wealthy owner, probably Salford and Scunthorpe only have wealthier owners.

The difference between City and many of the other League 1&2 clubs, is that they appear to have stability and owners who put enough into their respective clubs, to achieve a greater level of success.

City has been unstable since the Play Off final and Rupp’s apparent lack of involvement, will I feel undoubtedly have contributed to the situation.

Back to the thread title. No I won’t give up on City.

No, they’ll always be my team, I’d try to go and watch them at least once a season no matter what level they were at. The enthusiasm has ebbed a bit, but i think that is as much to do with covid and empty stadiums as anything else. Yes we are a very poor team to watch right now, but I’ll stick with them no matter how frustrating it is. I want us to move forward and have managed ambition in the long run and am not at all convinced by our current owners and set up. There feels to be a total disconnect between the owners and the club (the fans) from what I see, albeit as an exile and not as clued up on much of the mundane backroom type goings on as many fans are, or claim to be, on here.

Bradford City is a concept that transcends those who own, manage or play for the club at any particular time. It is our team, the one we've always supported, the one we will follow long after the present administration are gone. But at the moment it is in the hands of the most hopelessly incompetent individuals, in every capacity, that I can ever remember.

Ill always support City regardless of where we are.. however I don't care anymore.. ie if theres something more entertaining like watching paint dry or get dragged to a Garden centre I’ll pick those. Ill still check the score, LOL at the highlights and be glad I didn't waste my time watching another pathetic display.

What people need to realise is Bradford City has given up on them.

Personally think Rupp has told the club to be self sufficient and he isn’t willing to back them over the budgets any more.
Just look at our business so far we have cleared some big wages last summer and apart from Cooke and Evans I can’t see the rest being on big money? We are still stuck with a few from before who might be on half decent money and more than we want on the salary cap and with no crowds for the foreseeable I don’t expect any big signings in January. It will be young lads on loan hoping they are good enough.

we’ve moved Sparks up and he can’t be on a proper CEO wage and it doesn’t sound like we will replace him in the old role he had. More get him to cover both judging by his interview on the radio.
We’ve then extended McCall and his assistants contract. Again won’t be on mega money as Rhodes negotiated that and he knew the constraints.

Expecting a long season this season and if we survive another long one next. Rupp to quote fordy seems to have given up to an extent
