What happened to McCall’s loving style when they lost 9 games in a row? You would have had him sacked after losing 5 or 6.

To be fair the players said they loved training under Collins and look what happened there.

You only have to look at the performances to know their not responding to DH - he can't be happy with hoofing it from the back yet still lets them carry on, our decent passing game that got us the wins in Dec has long gone and the majority of his signings are injured, on the bench or not getting in the squad.

 

Of course they did, it was the football training equivalent of a deckchair on the beach.

Clarke - started last week. Came off of bench for others
Anderson - on bench yes but never gonna get in ahead of butterfield or O’Brien

That's exactly my point. Onside said that there's no rumours etc that the players don't like DH or his training methods.

 

It would be a stupid comparison if we're talking about Bradford playing against Prem opposition. But they aren't. Both OGS and DH have a level playing field with the staff they have, and the required performance they need to succeed in their associated division.
As I said before, both their jobs are the same: to get 11 players winning football games. Same way, as I as manager of my 10 year olds team, do. Didn't Jose have the same players - world cup winners and world class players as you say, but couldn't get them winning?

 

O'Connor - not in the squad
Henry - faded badly away.
Woods - 1 and a half games. Injured. Injury prone.
Anderson - has been on the bench every game since he's come in, gets the odd 5 minutes (however, I do think he'll start tomorrow).
O'Brien - did really well in the games he played but again injury prone.
Clarke will be in and out
Caddis and Butterfield I think will be the 2 that will start every game.

 

Clarke will be a first teamer, I reckon. I think he starts if he's fit, and quite rightly.

 

Instead of? I don't see how we fit Clarke, Ball, Payne, Butterfield and O'Brien plus Doyle and/or Miller in the side.

On paper that looks like a good way forward but as shown last week against Plymouth it's easy to stop.

All 6 players like to be on the ball and if you press them they can't find space and every single one of them are god dam slow!

I would drop Clarke myself go 2 up top and I would drop Butterfield for Akpan to make sure L'OB can do this thing.

For me our defence is shi&e and when you've a CB pairing of O'Connor and NKP then you're in trouble.

 

I'd say hopkins done well given that we were getting absolutely tonked every game prior to his arrival with no uptick in performances at all. He took livingston down before he took em up twice in a row which tells me a few things about him. Primarily, there'll be a specific type of player that will play for him but he'll take his time getting them in which we've seen to an extent. He likes to have a say in every aspect of the club which is why this season is a 100% write off and anyone who questions his ability is frankly talking out their arse. Its gonna take at least this season for him to sort all the behind the scenes feck ups out let alone the playing staff. he got promoted with largely the same playing staff twice at livingston which shows that hes clearly a good motivator and coach to get players to essentially over achieve to that degree. if he fecks it up by the end of next season i would fully question him, however constantly chopping and changing managers is never successful (unless your watford) and belies the lack of a long term strategy. like him or not, Im absolutely certsain Hopkin has at least enough about him to not get us relegated again out league two if we do go down so we just need to back him as much as possible for this seasons salvage job and then look at him critically next season.

We weren't getting absolutely tonked every game before he came. We were losing and he did very little to improve the situation until the good run in December.

 

Hopkin should go at the end of the season regardless what happens.

He's won 7 out of 27 games, losing 14 and conceded 44 times.

27 points from a possible 81 is freaking horrendous. How the hell do people keep backing him.
