What's Edin leaving got to do with it? Yeah fair do's he inherited a shit squad (he knew that when he took on the job), but since Edin has left, he's not exactly pulled up trees with what he's got - and what he brought in. It's like saying SM should be brought back because Edin has left. Or Grayson.

As Fordy says, it's a results business. Look at what Ole has done at Man Utd. He inherited a squad that couldn't get a run of wins together, morale was rock bottom and star players were sat sulking on the bench. What a turnaround! Unfortunately the same can't be said of DH.

 

I get the point you are making Tallinn but I think comparing us with Man U and the talent Ole has available to what DH has inherited is pushing it a bit!

Ole has a target and that's the top 4 and that's a low target for a club like UTD who aim to
win the league. When he came in they were 15 points off 4th place and now they're in 4th place.

Hopkin has one target 20th place and since he came in we've gone backwards! Fact!

I actually do agree with you Fordy that DH has not 'kicked on' as I thought and hoped he would - but transforming a team of multi-talented superstars who had simply become fed up with their previous manager and just needed to be let of the leash is slightly different to the total turmoil that is at our club and the motley crew of footballers DH has available to him.
Again I am not saying I have been impressed with everything DH has done, the limited team changes he has been able to manoeuvre have not quite met expectations (expectations he himself raised with the fans) and some of the tactics we have employed have left much to be desired - but to be fair to him everything has to be taken into account against a backdrop of the calamity of a club we currently are. Lets put it this way, if we do finish 20th this season there will still be massive areas the club needs to address - finances, ownership, day to day running of the club, pitch and other resources, team for 19/20 season etc etc

Ole came in and did the Pepe and Klopp approach.

Hopkin comes in and does the Jose approach.

Jose approach is dated and won't get the best out of players now.

Ok, it's like this even when players at Liverpool, City and now Utd are having a bad time it's thw other players that's openly coming out talking them up and the manager is also.

Our players are having a bad time and the doors are shut. Manager doesn't talk about them and neither does the players but the players are scared too and left wondering is that going to happen to me one day.

Hopkin's style and management is all wrong for the club. We won't get far with that can't of style.
