Parky wanted players ready now and wouldn’t wait.

Not a criticism but he didn’t really afford youngsters chances. Club would have been daft not to sell

Didn’t he play because Hanson’s back had gone? He was never gonna lead our line against those big Rotherham brutes that day given his inexperience and slight frame.

    Good summary.

In that Rotherham game he was up against Claude Davis and Pablo Mills. Two, big, physical centre halves and as hard as they come. We needed another battering ram to fill in for Hanson at the time, rather than nurturing McBurnie.

Another season of goals could lead to Swansea being promoted, a likely new improved contract and no sale/sell on fee..

bit harsh to use the Rotherham game as an example - he was hung out to dry in that game, up front on his own was ridiculous and quite rightly we got nothing from him.

I never saw him doing this well whilst at City but I think he played in a team that wanted a certain style of player and he didn't fit that.

He was severely mis managed in a time of desperation, having seen him maybe a dozen times one season for the kids it was clear he knew where the goal was. The instinct was natural although he contributed little else to the team. He moved to a better team with better coaches and they brought today's player out of him. We get 15% but after that we should never get a training fee for him because we nearly ruined him.

Are you so desperate to pick a fight with me that you’re no longer reading the actual posts that you respond to.

This is the second time tonight I have seen your ridiculous come-backs, which frankly makes you look foolish.

I never said he would/should sign for a top European side. That suggestion came from elsewhere...!!

so my post gets deleted, but @BoingBoing@BoingBoing 's is fine, and he's allowed to continue trying to bait people? how does that work.

No great surprise they haven't gone up. Barnsley and Luton both had far superior squads imo.

Sunderland could have some big financial issues for next season. They really needed to bounce straight back up.

It will be a promotion clause so as long as he is that club and they are promoted, will be paid out

Unfortunately we’ve all had our fingers burnt listening and believing what Rupp says. That statement when Rahic left, coupled with the promise of bringing in players in required positions during the last window...Rupp needs to learn that if your talk is cheap, then pretty soon people will think you’re cheap too.

I have no love for Rupp either but I believe you're being a little unfair with your above comment, he's stated he would cover any losses we've had in the past and also any in the future.
As yet Bowyer has made one signing and offered 12 month contracts to Devine & Aderson, it's still very early in the closed season, I'm sure Bowyer is well aware of his player budget, he'll know with the likes of Scannell, Doyle, Wright and Riley etc still on board he will be restricted and it will only allow him certain movement with regards bringing new faces in.
Until we hear Rupp has gone back on his word and doesn't either make good any losses or does not back Bowyer in the January transfer window, as I say IMO a little harsh to criticse.

I had this same debate with him yesterday. He can’t seem to grasp the fact that the budget is £1.6m generated from ticket sales, plus an extra £1m from Rupp’s pocket. And this is in addition to the monies already put in to clear last season’s over-spend. Thus the budget this year totals £2.6m

But will he accept this? Nah, not our Fordy

Any chance of some positivity coming from Valley Parade? Or are we going to keep getting articles about how bad the finances are and how we won't compete with pub teams this year?

I don't understand your point - when you say he isn't covering the losses but he is lending the cash. That is exactly what covering is??

Too many people rightly so whinged at Edin and been controlling regardless of the fact he knew sweet FA about how football works. Yet people whinge at SR for proving a good budget for L2 football and staying away from it and letting the football people sort the football side out.

It's not ground hog day far from it.
