I think he meant the initial fee, not the promotion clause

Rupp has already said he will cover the losses from last season and also invest over £1m extra this season. The failure of Sunderland to get promoted changes nothing. It just means Rupp won’t claw back £150k of that investment

It will be a promotion clause so as long as he is that club and they are promoted, will be paid out

Show me quotes that said he said that?

He should be digging deeper into his pockets and doing everything in his power to back Bowyer next season.

I don't want to hear excuses!

I refer you to the thread about the Q&A session that was recently attended by members of local media, including WOTP. You can find it here > https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/open-dialogue.2528/

Alternatively, if you’d rather just go to the article written by @Jason McKeown@Jason McKeown, the link for that can be found here > https://widthofapost.com/2019/05/22/open-dialogue/

Finally, in case you have missed it, we have the £1.6m generated by ticket sales and Rupp has promised a further £1m on top of that. This is allegedly a competitive budget and should give Bowyer a chance to challenge.

Unless you’re willing to put your money where your mouth is, I suggest you stop with the constant moaning about lack of investment...!

Ryan Sparks, Media and PR Manager, was the sound piece for the club and it was he that said it.

I’ll turn it on it’s head. Where are the quotes from Rupp that states any monies received from the Wyke promotion clause or McBurnie sell-on, would be reinvested into the first team?

Spot on.. I am not convinced he would.

This season we will really see what Mr Rupp is about concerning Bradford City.

Unfortunately we’ve all had our fingers burnt listening and believing what Rupp says. That statement when Rahic left, coupled with the promise of bringing in players in required positions during the last window...Rupp needs to learn that if your talk is cheap, then pretty soon people will think you’re cheap too.

He provided significant finances In January to keep Payne at the club. Not being a footballing man, I would imagine the decision to use up so much of the transfer kitty on securing the services of one loan player for the rest of the season was made by Hopkins and/or Rhodes rather than Rupp. I'm not saying Rupp shouldn't be held to account but he did make finances available in January but the way they were spent was (yet again) reckless and ineffective.

Why should Rupp keep making statements to the press when he employs someone who is presumably better qualified and more experienced in these matters?

I have no love for Rupp either but I believe you're being a little unfair with your above comment, he's stated he would cover any losses we've had in the past and also any in the future.
As yet Bowyer has made one signing and offered 12 month contracts to Devine & Aderson, it's still very early in the closed season, I'm sure Bowyer is well aware of his player budget, he'll know with the likes of Scannell, Doyle, Wright and Riley etc still on board he will be restricted and it will only allow him certain movement with regards bringing new faces in.
Until we hear Rupp has gone back on his word and doesn't either make good any losses or does not back Bowyer in the January transfer window, as I say IMO a little harsh to criticse.

I agree with your comment up to a point, there is nothing worse than hearing a statement passed down the line for someone else to quote to the listening audience.
I know it's not the same but we had to team brief our shop floor workers every month on how the company was going and what changes would be implemented to take the company forward, you could guarantee with me being on nights the workforce had every comment covered as they had been brief by the afternoons shift interpretation, this was passed onto higher management who then made the decision to brief all the night turn together when they started their shift.

    Doesn't really matter.

Mr Rupp is taking it all if Oli is sold.

Did you complain when Mark Lawn took his money back? He's pumped money in and set a competitive budget and that's enough for me, in another era an overspend would have meant a reduction in the playing budget.
