    I'm not naive.

I was merely asking to see who's been the chairman since you've been a city fan that's all.

We should learn from history so relevance should be taught to Edin not me. The fact that we have had some poor chairmen in the past has no relevance to me not wanting a poor chairman now.

I know exactly what he is saying and I am responding that we don't have to stay the same as in the past. Try telling a Bournemouth supporter that they are traditionally a lower league club.

Even Bournemouth had to take a 25 point penalty in L2 only just surviving a drop into the conference whilst a Russian billionaire got his act together
Sometimes you have to take a step back before going forward

My earlier posts were all about saying that in our position, there was no need to go backwards.

In all fairness I thought we were going forward until the autumn of 2017. In 1994 the first game we went to, was the Brighton match. Brighton are another club who were at the bottom of the heap by 1997 yet have clawed their way back up to the top.

We seem to be taking the ‘steps’ from the Hokey Kookey, rather than steady progression!

Of course in 1998/9 (I think it was) the bottom 4 in L2 (division 3 in those days) were Cardiff, Swansea, Brighton and Doncaster
Since then they have all had their ups and downs
Swansea fans are bleating about relegation to the Championship, Cardiff and Brighton are now having their day - Cardiff for the second time whilst Doncaster went into the conference before climbing to the Championship and on Saturday probably fancy their chances against us in L1
Each one of them have had ups and downs yet some believe that our progress from 2012 onwards should last at least until we win the Champions League and beyond

I think ‘balance and perspective’ are called for. Clearly Cardiff, Swansea and Brighton are currently playing at a higher level than us and have been since we dropped down to League 2 in 2007. Since 2012 even Doncaster Rovers have on average been doing well.

So I think that since our exit from the Premiership and certainly from the Championship, that on the whole, they have had far more ups than us.

I am sure that apart from an extreme minority, most fans would be content with Championship football, some decent cup runs and the potential for a brief visit to the Premiership.

You say that now but if we tread water in the Championship the Trolls will soon be bleating that we have lost our ambition

Surely the same will apply to any club in any league/division. Soms fans always want more than what can reasonably be achieved. Trolls are usually a very small (but vocal) minority

That's exactly where I am, Championship football please, the premiership is corrupt with venezuelan value money and will surely (I hope) implode at some time in the not too distant future...

If it was a step backwards for reasons beyond the chairman's control there wouldn't be a problem, a step backwards because the chairman believed his model was the one to take us forward (with no experience) will be a little hard to stomach for many, that is the big difference to me, and I would suggest many more Bradford City fans who have seen the club go backwards under Edin's tenure.

I'm sure there may be the odd one, but I'd suggest the majority would be delighted with mid table Championship football, really no need for the troll comment everyone is entitled to an opinion ?.

My thoughts exactly. I’d love to see us in the Championship but please let’s not ever go into the cesspit that is the premiership

Once the topic changes to Jack Tordoff someone will come on and complain that if he had invested in a couple of players City would have been promoted to Division 1 (now the Premiership) rather than lose out in the play offs and that was 30 years ago
There is no way that all fans would accept continuous Championship football if we ever get there
Just ask whether Brentford, Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday QPR and Birmingham fans are happy just sticking around in the Championship

How far down the football pyramid would we need to go before you would consider allowing City fans to demonstrate some "ambition" and aspire to a higher position?
