sorry but I work in a hospital.. we have had PPE products recalled due to no longer being certified safe to use.

 

sorry but when you are working in the middle of it your views are different.. we have had PPE products deemed no longer safe to use and been recalled. I'm not just 'sitting on the sidelines' criticising.

 

I am well aware of the difficulties for people but it’s a difficult situation do you think it would be different under the QC I don’t think so.

 

nobody is getting in to party politics and we'll never know if things had of been different under another party or another tory leader.. we're playing the cards we've been dealt and the PPE cards have been woeful.

Why would they not be safe to use? Surely they're just not as good as the other type but thats 2 different things isn't it?

 

not just masks, visors have been recalled too.. imagine working in a certain type of PPE for 3 or 4 weeks with patients coughing, sneezing all over and then a few weeks down the line being those PPE items are no longer safe to use and we have to box all the rest up and get rid of them - it's mentally draining. I for one can understand why the general public are confused about the whole thing, we even had a patient turn up to their appointment a few weeks ago three days after testing positive for CV19 - but that's their own stupidity.

 

Over the course of this pandemic I have looked how other countries have gone in with dealing with it. And a running theme is the lack of PPE all countries have had shortages and poor quality. The situation despite one batch has improved significantly over here

 

I was talking specifically about those masks from that contract that they were discussing. I thought I'd read that they hadn't actually been sent out at all but I could be wrong and apologise if I was.

I know the general rules on PPE have been changing but I'm not overly surprised by that. Even if it is a ball ache for the people involved I don't see a way around it in an understandable evolving situation.

I really don't get the confusion around any of the rules to be honest. I can get why people don't like them but thats not the same thing.

 

my personal experience is that the quality has not improved but only the quantity so that we are now covered.. I'd be interested to know your personal experience and where your research is from.
