The bulls were at the top of their game during that period of success, they used to training down at Apperley Bridge, their training methods were way ahead of what Citys were, we used to watch them both when skiving off in the works van. Carl Jennings was the conditioning coach and he brought a lot of innovative new training methods that were widely used in other countries, and also a lot dietary work aided with what was a growing supplements business at the time. Its like anything, the more you put into these players in terms of coaches and facilities, the extra you will get out of them. Thats why clubs like Man City build state of the art training centres and don't train at their local private school. Even clubs like Leicester are doing it, i know its off the back of massive success and i certainly don't expect to see Bradford build anything of their own, probably not in my life time. But to move forward you have to think outside the box and a long term plan is essential to the long term possible future of this club. As Faithful alludes to, get the other sporting agencies involved, give Bradford something to be proud of and aspire to decades down the line rather than flapping about in the lower league like our sporting outfits currently do.

I think it was @kevin54 on C&B, last year who suggested that mass of land at the bottom of Wakefield Road would be great for a professional Multi sports complex / village, including a Hotel and conference suites. Excellent transport links, and would also benefit City centre businesses.
If Bradford truly does want to regenerate and 'move forward', then these are the type of projects to accelerate that.

You wouldn’t invest a penny? Where does the first team train? Do McLaren service their F1 cars in Halfords?

I don’t believe the council is interested in supporting Avenue, Bulls or City.

In addition they are forever telling Joe Public they haven't a pot to piss in.

Edit ..... But this is where local business men and entrepreneurs could step in.

As a country we’ve just spent £4bn on planning for no deal Brexit, lost £600m a week since the Brexit vote and are about to spunk another £50bn+ over the next decade on HS2. The money is there when they want to spend it.

Not this council, but we might get a new one! I think there will be a major sea change these elections. We might get a completely different flavour.

You’re being deliberately obtuse, but my point is why would you sign good athletes and not look after them in the best facilities possible. The advances in sports science mean you need it, if you’re giving your athletes the best conditioning, then in their mind they’re already one step ahead of the opposition before the benefits of top quality training. It’s what Team Sky have done for nearly a decade. Everything a little bit better.

We need all the MP’s to get onboard with this. At the moment they are frightened of the North, they suddenly realised we are still here, and particularly Yorkshire. DUP managed to get £2 billion for NI for their support!!

Weren't these facilites the same that our Premiership players trained on or was it the facilites Richmond got in Leeds that was part of a collage/university, which ever they were they weren't owned by Bradford City.
Of course clubs would want there assets training on the best facilites available, but as has been discussed many times what comes first the quality of players on the pitch or the training facility that has been fine for the last 7/8 years.
I'm sure if we had the backing of the likes of Team Sky we would have funds available to build far better traing facilites unfortunatly we have team Rupp.

My guess is and I have no evidence or knowledge is that what we currently have is the best facilities that match our budget. Without go over old ground we have grass pitches, 4g pitches, swimming pool and a gym available and usable. I'd guess that these facilities will be that little bit better than most League 2 sides.

Think the problem will start if we ever get into the Championship when I much better standard of player/fitness/training facility is needed.

The facilities are adequate as they stand. They serve a purpose. Wether adequate will be good enough in 5 to 10 years time remains to be seen. I'd like to think that 10 years down the line this club has a different look to what it does now and that has to be long term vision of a championship club with facilities and a professionalism to match. The culture and the mindset throughout this club has to change if we are to move on in the long term.

Totally agree but we can only go down the road of long term planning with owners who want to grow our club and that means owners who are prepared to spend some brass.
It will not happen no matter how much certain posters try and convince us dearer season tickets will make any difference, it has to come from the owner/owners who believe a football club our size can get a return eventually on his/their investments.

I have to agree. No matter how many, at what ever price ............ ST's will never fund the future development of BCAFC.

There's a slight difference between 'calling out' and abusing, but i'd not expect you to grasp that.
