Ha ha, everytime we play my Mrs asks "did Bradford win". Gets the same response too, which is "no idea, I don't check Park Avenue's results"

To the older generation we might not be 'Bradford', but nowadays we are Bradford.

I refer to us as Bradford.

Whenever 'City' is mentioned, people assume Manchester City.

Sorry mate, we are still Bradford City whether you like it or not.

None of my friends and family, no matter which generation, refer to us as just Bradford.

When there were 2 teams from Bradford in the football league, Bradford City was called "Bradford City". Bradford PA was called "Bradford". Bradford City is still in the football league, Bradford is not.

We, the supporters, are the Bradford boys because we come from Bradford. This is our home. But our team is called Bradford City.

Somebody at work in Belgium told me he was a supporter of "United". I asked, Colchester, Hartlepool, Cambridge, Leeds, Sheffield, West Ham? No, he replied shocked, Manchester of course. So if I said you supported just "Manchester," is that right?

So Mr Kiwomya and everyone else, we are not "Brafford", we are Bradford City or just known locally as "City".

I don't, I call my team City or the Bantams, if I ever refer to them as Bradford it is with City attached on the end. Mind you I don't refer to Avenue as Bradford, usually just Ave. What level BPA play at is pretty irrelevant. Not too long ago we looked like we might be heading in their direction.
I've been following the Bantams since 1975 when my late wife got me interested. However thanks to my Dad Horton Park Avenue is where it all started for me back in 1962. I have also been lucky enough to see the likes of Bobby Ham and Terry Dolan play for both clubs.

I never assume City is Manchester City, they are close on 40 miles away. Anyway when I was a young boy ( a bit of John Mellencamp there), my mum used to say "Don't you go near that Maine Road".

Doesn't this sort of thing only apply to anyone over the national pension age? Cos no one below that age cares a shit about Avenue or us being called Bradford.

I refer to BPA as Avenue
I refer to City as City
Outside of my City, if I'm asked who I support I just say Bradford.
    Everyone knows who I mean.
Then I add the disclaimer "Yes, I know we're crap but someone's got to support them" haha

I grew up supporting City in the main period of rivalry between the two clubs ( I know it happened much earlier too) 1960’s and what I don’t get ….. “ Stans”

I never referred to them as the Stans, and I never heard anyone else call them by that name. It was just City v Avenue, playing DOWN at “the City” or UP at “the Avenue”.

    Perhaps @Bronco@Bronco remembers this phenomenon?

Not sure why any City fan of any age would refer to us by another club's name.

Hats off to Derek Adams, every interview I have heard he has referred to us as Bradford City.
