NO. We used to argue about unfair decisions and think referees were idiots at times. We still argue about unfair decisions, which seem even more unfair than before, and know for certain referees are idiots at times and have to put up with instantaneous joy removed from goals scored and game delays in reaching the wrong decision. Where do players' arms start and end next season? Will an ear count for offside? Did the defender intend to play the ball as it went through? And how hard will a striker have to kick a defender and go down howling for a penalty before he gets booked for kicking the defender? We've seen strikers kick defenders several times this season and win penalties on VAR. Everybody is still arguing about everything. Just go back to let the ref decide and us wondering if (s)he is an idiot sometimes. I preferred it when we were less certain. NO.NO.NO.

The survey also found that 95 per cent of fans who had experienced VAR in stadiums and 94 per cent who had watched matches on TV with VAR decisions said that the setup had made watching matches less enjoyable.

The GLT is very good and there is no argument from me on this, I think VAR is not right atm and the officials on field appear to be negating their role. -

Will be very entertaining in the Premier league this coming season, Match of the day may take all night with all the controversies of the VAR decisions discussed and talked over

First we see Leuko the Cameroon player openly catch Nikita Parris in the face only a yellow no VAR, then another indecent where a Cameroon player spits on an England forward no action from the referee or VAR, Cameroon should be down to 9 women, no point in having VAR if the officials don't use it.

Another balls up by VAR today. Never hand ball in a million years. Ruining the game. Just a chance for a third party to get it wrong.

Hate VAR with a passion. Was it referred to 9 times during the Man City game last weekend?, its a farce, and should be binned immediately.
Although, I didnt approve of the review system when introduced to Cricket, at least Cricket is a game, where stopping for a review doesnt spoil the continuity of a game. As for football, no thanks -

if that ball took no deviation from Laporte's arm on its way through, how could it meet the criteria of :creating or scoring" a goal? Maybe next season they will rewrite that rule too. I get that they don't want goals being scored by "accidental" handball but this is silly. It should definitely be rewritten to allow a ball hitting a player off a defender (Wolves last week) and consideration given to this.

Seriously considering not renewing for next season, IF we're still in the PL

Another week on and I notice some of the pundits are not defending VAR any more and some that are only do so half-heartedly. It will be interesting when somebody breaks a leg after the linesman does not flag immediately for a clear offside.

I'm just pointing out somebody will get injured after an offside where the assistant did not raise the flag and it will get blamed on the advisory not to raise the flag promptly. A slightly different scenario will be events that take place before play is called back for a VAR penalty the ref misses. What if someone gets a second yellow for a basic foul (not violent) and sent off but play gets called back for a penalty that took place before? A second goal would be scrubbed off so consistency says a second yellow should be too. Have they already thought things through enough to rule on such things? I think they've rushed this through too quickly and should have trialled more.
I preferred reliance on refs myself, and thought many in the past were great, but the constant rule changes and top-down diktat mean they struggle a bit more. However, part of what made the game great was the occasional controversy and how the teams and crowd reacted to it. I think VAR is sterilising football because of money. Some people might like that but I don't. Don't expect me to hold back in criticising it.
I wish this thread would get some more coverage. I'd like to know if its 2:1 against VAR on a bigger vote. Any chance it could be stickied to the City forum for a bit?
